One of my favorite features in MechWarrior Online is the ability to custom paint / custom camo my mechs. With paints being either available for ingame currency or for aur-equivalent and camouflage schemes being available for aur-equivalent. Selling cosmetic items in this sense has a huge draw to it.

I'd do it in a similar way to MW:O, Once you purchase a paint or camo spec you have it forever, and you have three main areas of paint ('Main', 'Undertone', 'Trim') and an optional camo-scheme slot for each suit. The aur / lp / faction pack suits would all have slightly different main/undertone/trim and camo applications, and probably certain things about some suits would be unchangeable say a large white/yellow/red/green/purpley-blue patch or stripe on each suit that identifies what 'class' it is.

Edit: To add, I would paint my Incubuses black and red to symbolize "King of the Skies" for Rathalos in Monster Hunter. Tanks dark green for Rathian.
And then you'd fly around the map for hours on end accomplishing absolutely nothing?
(first generation monster hunter, I had something like 1800hrs of online played and *everything* done, I miss the GMR Heavy Metal Crusade event)

(first generation monster hunter, I had something like 1800hrs of online played and *everything* done, I miss the GMR Heavy Metal Crusade event) If it's Rathalos were going on about here, it'd probably hit'n'run, look down on you menacingly and then play with his prey for as long as he could before swooping down for the kill. Also, I realize the Incubus is sturdier than the Python but I think the Python would resemble the Rathalos a little more. Don't you think? 
Python has lots more spiky bits, so it works better for Rathalos.
