I mean people complain about protostomping, but I really think if you put nyan san in a bunch of militia suits they would still be able to pubstomp.
Without 6 people focus firing though... well lets just say everyone bleeds the same.
Here's the point: If we were all in militia gear, and Nyain was still stomping the crap out of everybody, it wouldn't make me want to quit playing. It would make me want to get gud.
What CCP has utterly, completely failed to understand is that there is a difference between getting 'outplayed', and getting 'outgeared'. Getting outplayed with smart tactics makes players want to improve their own game. Getting outgeared, aka protostomped, makes people ragequit, never to play again, and that is because they recognize no matter how much practice you put in, it's probably futile.

This is the biggest difference between the playerbase now and the playerbase during beta. People tried to figure out how to beat the people that beat them instead of trying to get the variety and force multipliers in Dust nerfed. True, but during beta (at least open beta, I never played closed), SP accrual was accelerated so that people could get into gear quicker. After the big reset, the speed of SP accrual got dialed back, so it's harder to get into the gear you need to face the big protostomping squads, unless you no-life Dust for a bit. And plus, it was beta, so there was more tolerance of this kind of B.S.
I've been thinking lately that the simplest solution to the problem of protostomping is simply a substantial increase in payouts, enough so that everybody can run whatever level of gear they want full-time. At least then, you'll know the reason you got beat was because you got outplayed or were not playing tactically in a squad, not because you couldn't afford the right gear. There's no economy to jack up anymore, so who gives a **** how much ISK anybody has?
