...decided to overheat after one uncharged shot.
I had 400HP more HP left when my Duvolle ran out of bullets vs the Cal Assault.
All I needed was for the IoP to deliver 2 shots.

Nah, I don't actually care about losing it enough to rage.
DUST is dead, might as well use the weapons.
Don't use what you can't afford to lose? I can afford to lose pretty much anything.

I have sharpshooter V and Gal Assault IV, this thing is as good as it gets, so what does the IoP do?
Overheat when it's not supposed to.

A. I had 27 Balac's, and I don't play PC anymore, so what am I going to do with all of those?
B. With the same clip I killed two other people, I just ran out of bullets with the third.
C. It was a proto Cal Assault that also equipped armor plates.

Actually no.
I learned to be very careful and only tap the R1 button quickly.
The IoP still randomly overheats when it wants to.
Also, I wasn't panicking, when you have 400HP left and the enemy will die in two shots of your sidearm, there is usually no need to panic :P
