CCP mentioned that one of the new things in Legion would be the ability to unlock new types of missions with ISK.
This got me thinking. One of the choices you can make during character creation could determine the initial selection of mission types available to you. Of course by playing the game you can eventually unlock all types and certain mission types are available to all.
The advantage to this is that it would allow people who already have experience with dust/FPS games to choose their preferred play style and level of risk from the start. It would also allow us to create a more focussed NPE.
For example. Possible roles/names
Salvager - high sec PVE/salvage missions
Mercenary - competitive matches
Deep space explorer - low sec PVE/PVP
Industrialist - harvesting missions (presuming this sort will exist)

Well, in Eve Online your character's initial missions will be tailored to your race with the career agents. However, the option is always there to just run missions belonging to other races.

I really can't be bothered doing something for you that you can easily do yourself.
In any case, the method by which you unlock missions could be based on standings, SP, ISK, or even as simple as doing a previous mission in a chain. Whichever is more fun. |

I am pretty sure that after CCP released some info about Legion, they have took into consideration all of the feedback and I suspect Legion will be a lot more like EVE than their initial prototype lead us to believe.

If it's going to have a secondary market driven primarily by salvage, then expect Legion to be very much like Eve.

I have nightmares I just see a guy moving around on screen I click the cover I want him to go to and click the target to shoot at and then go make coffin waiting for the battle to end.
