I am comparing two fittings; one a medium, the other light. The difference between the two is 46 EHP favoring the medium suit. Yet he smaller hitbox on the light makes me think it makes up for the difference.
So is there is a general estimate/ rule of thumb on how much a smaller hitbox worth in EHP from heavy to medium, medium to light or even heavy to light?

The size of the hit box isn't always helpful especially if you run into players who are pretty damn good marksmen. Lights rely heavily on speed so use that to your advantage instead.

If the hitbox is your only concern, I wouldn't think 46 HP would make that much of a difference.
However, I would look at the entirety of the bonuses etc versus what you are trying to accomplish.
There are much more significant differences in light and medium frames than HP to Hit Box ratio.

Again, hit box means nothing when you run into a player who knows how to keep a gun steady and doesn't resort to spray-n-pray. Also, brick tanking in a scout? LOL

I disagree. Hitbox is a pretty big deal I think. It plays into the combo of speed, lag and hit detection.
I see, on a surprisingly regular basis actually, a scout run strait at a heavy unloading his HMG and kill said heavy with a combat rifle.
I see scouts stepping back and forth passing through the beam of a laser rifle taking no damage.
The most messed up one was when I saw a novaknifer appear in front of a forge gunner, take a swipe, and jump over the heavy. The heavy pray shotted the forge gun and hit the scout square on as he jump into the air. The scout and the heavy were touching each other as the scout had just swung that nova knife.
The forge shot exploded on the scouts body, the splash of which killed the heavy (no life left cause of the knife) but left the scout unharmed..his tiny hitbox literally out ran a forge explosion originating on him.
My eyes bugged out to say the least.
I think the small hitbox when coupled with the way dust handles lag and speed makes it work a lot of ehp. Just my opinion though. |

Hitbox is a huge deal.
It can take 2 times as much ammo to kill scouts that have less iHP than assaults. I vave had every kind of scout run through a held down HMG trigger and at most get a sliver of health lost. Often completely unscathed.

In terms of hitbox alone your likely to see nothing more than a 5% accuracy difference. Most people shoot at center mass, so any changes in accuracy is usually a result of the weapons own dispersion. This for example is only 23 DPS less on an AR.
However if you start stacking the other bonuses that lights get. Faster Strafe Speed -5% More Stamina (more bunnyhoping) -5% Bugged Hit Detection at High Speeds -15% He starts to get difficult to hit.
Then you start adding in the situational bonuses. Lower Profile Better Prescision Longer Radius Cloak Fitting Bonus Second Equipment Slot
And suddenly that 46 eHP is looking a lot more inviting.
