I was looking forward to reading his acceptance speech. Though I do find it odd that the remake of ERA would ally themselves with FA and TSO's.

If you can remember, LOI's roster lined up nice with EoN's until TP exposed it. Hellstorm, OH, Pro Hic, Anon, Warravens, and some others that I can't remember off the top. EoN had TP, SyN, R*S, RND, GEN...see, not much of a donut

You can farm about 2 bill from 30 districts a week. It's pretty profitable...but farming takes slightly more time and you need someone else like Nyain to lock them for you.

The LOI thing isn't really fair though. There's no telling how it might have ended up. I'm not saying it would have ended up different in the end, but it wouldn't have been a 2 day deal.
When the war with Eon kicked off OH was already gone. After Radar attacked HS and then bragged about beating them on the forums (supposedly when HS A team dudes weren't around or something) they got booted. It seems like it was only a few days later when Kujo kicked off the war (after it was voted against) after getting beat in a pub by RND. We were only aware the war had started when RS attacked us.
TP beat HS a couple of times while Kujo was away and Pun supposedly tried to talk tactics and Broadway went off on him (all stuff I've heard from various people, who knows the accuracy?). When Kujo returned he raided the wallet and What the Flux was formed.
LOI had Internal Error, Nyain San, 187, Anon, Pro Hic and others join somewhat shortly before it all fell apart. I don't think we even had a channel set up yet before Kujo attacked Eon. It was wayy over before it even started. Nobody even had a chance to attack in unison, talk strategies, or set timers.
I'll give Eon all the credit in the Dust world, they were a monster, but Kujo had more to do with that Eon victory than Eon did.

They had been playing some matches against each other and HS was winning. Then OH attacked without it being set up. It was a weird timer and it was known some people were going to be gone or something.
I think OH was attacking TP as well. Basically they weren't listening to Kujo. It was pretty public at the time. I've probably butchered some of the details.

Mostly accurate.
Radar tried having another unscheduled friendly match, but with TP this time. We figured something like that would happen eventually, seeing as we had been making a massive land grab right next to them for a few weeks in preparation. We liked the prospect of getting a chance to play against OH so much that we quickly did a bit of match scheduling of our own and decided to make it a little more interesting: Loser lost all their districts. It also just so happened that our overall plan included taking out either hellstorm or OH in the hopes of diminishing their ability to wage war as an alliance.
Kujo got beat in a pub by the corp that joined EoN. with RND. Movado and Cubs sent Hellstorm leadership a friendly reminder that attacking an EoN. corp would result in us taking all yo stuffs. They gave them a "so be it" and stuffz taking commenced. TP lost the first two matchs against hellstorm. We were without DJINN Hellsreaper( Most underrated of all of the players in TP IMO) who was one of our strongest slayers and most versatile players. Once he logged on we proceded to win a couple of very close matches against HS teams that included everyone you would expect. After the anti-flaylock/fused treaty was enacted, we dominated them handily and they lost the will to fight. TP just had better tactics and strategy at the time. The same 19 people played every night and listen to a tape recording of cubs telling us exactly what we were going to try to do and who was doing what. If something needed to be done, somebody always did it.
And broadway was just mad that I was beating him one on one consistently. Anything else that happened was just misguided rage.
Didn't matter if they were more organized. EoN. matched up right down the list. Our best team was better than their best team. Our second and third best teams were better than their second best team. The only question going in was if TP was going to be able to beat hellstorm consistently. We knew we were good enough to force LoI to field them against us, but not if we were good enough to beat them regularly. With OH and their flaylock spam(anyone who could equip one did, some of them equipped two of em), it would have been a much more balanced conflict., but I still think EoN. had a lot more depth in their 3/4/5/6 "best" corps than LoI did. |

Who knows, I think it's a shame it happened the way that it did. I think the landscape overall would have been a lot different. After PFBHZ and HS everybody started folding into more and more elite corps.
Just a few mechanics tweaks and 40+ corps in PC would have been pretty awesome.

I'll give Eon all the credit in the Dust world, they were a monster, but Kujo had more to do with that Eon victory than Eon did. OH being eliminated before the start of the war was a result of long term EoN. strategy, good diplomacy (and poor diplomacy on radar's part), and opportunity seized. That would be me and few friends from IXI. That was crazy, I knifed Kujo and Soul like twice, and then all the attacks started pouring in. Started talking to Marauder through the Scout channel and was all "WTF" and Marauder just said "Dude, you just pissed the the F*CK off" Exactly. Both sides were just looking for an excuse at that point. EoN. had already accomplished all its pre-war setup goals at that point and was ready to act. Movado was chill though, so we were just waiting. |
