There is still a slowdown when taking fire. Its an easy fix but noticeable. When im running through an area handing out 'brownies'
even i dont get hit, as like a precaution, i slow to the pace of about a snail. Maybe its more noticeable cause im going from 11.12
to practically 0.12. But its easy fix cause its just like when you cloak and run really slow than you press sprint again and your
running at normal pace. Maybe it was just lag but i thought i was being slow down.

As far as I can tell it has nothing to do with taking fire. It seems to have to do with trying to sprint right after using a piece of equipment.

Yeah that might be it cause i try to sprint after throwing REs and im so slowwwww man. It gets me killed. I should be more careful
but my playstyle is high risk high reward or as more often then not, high risk get killed before you get a chance to get the reward.

Yeah, when you drop that "brownie" you want to get out of harms way as fast as possible or when you cloak you want to cover as much ground as possible before decloaking; so you instinctively sprint right after using either of them. It gets me all the time when running my scout suit.

Same thing happens with hives and uplinks but most people aren't in too much of a hurry to sprint right after dropping them so it's not as noticeable.

Remote Explosives, or Proximity Mines, (Needle are a bit special) sprinting works fine....
However, with the cloak and the repair tool, these items seem to suffer "sprint illusion" (I guess I'll call it that for now). What seems to happen is that after the activation/deactivation of the cloak, should you sprint too soon, the sprint animation for your perspective will show and the camera will do it's little perception trick to make you seem like your running faster. However, you are in fact, not sprinting.

This happens with the repair tool when deactivating it (letting go of R1) and attempting to sprint too soon before the repair tool animation resets to the "carry" position. This results in the same thing as described above.

Of course, there are other bugs with equipment such as deploying uplinks in the Gallente Research Facility's Supply Room or dying with an active cloak at the end of the match...

TL;DR: After activating/deactivating (manually) the cloak, you have to wait a very small amount of time before sprinting, otherwise you get caught in "sprint illusion".

EDIT: Happens with Remotes too. I forgot.

It's the sprint bug. How many times has this been discussed? Many times; its very well characterised by now. But CCP still hasn't fixed it.

Can you tell us what part of the code is causing the bug? Is it the actual running trigger? Mabye it's the animations? Could possibly be a conflict with the state of the equipment? Or mayhaps it's a piece of the action coding for the equipment interacting improperly with the sprint button?

Unless you can pinpoint the area of data that a problem is coming from, you cannot fix said problem. It could be something abstract such as the operating overlay interacting with both the equipment and the sprint toggle... or whatever they have or data carriage.

I have no idea, I'm not a game programmer. I meant "well characterised" by the players. Lots of players have reported it, made videos about it. The community has been telling CCP about it for over a year.

But rattati told us they were having difficulty reproducing the bug. They programmed the game, I'm sure they should be able to reproduce the sprint bug and figure out what causes it, just like you say.

 Good day to you sir!

Always remember that in DUST, you do what the game wants, the game does not do what you want.

It is. Wait until whatever animation you're doing (such as: using rep tool, cloaking, etc) to finish, AND THEN sprint.

I seem to slow down when getting hit by a Blaster Turret, though. I don't know. Wasn't it supposed to be fixed?

This, It happens on all animations not just on equipment drops.
