Can I just type in team chat, and have it flash the message on the screen for them to see that we need troops at the only point in domination to win? PLEASE!!! I just want to tell them to guard alpha so bad! I wanna type messages like "where the **** are you going" and have it flash on the screen like the orbital strike or hackin supply depot.
I want to warn the blueberry tanker that the other tanker is missile, and he's about to get owned..... well.... not really, but I'm sure somebody might want to help him lol!
It can't be that complicated can it? There's squad chat which we have, and team chat which is useless?! I want to be able to request heavy support at bravo, ask the 5 snipers to kindly leave the match, and tell the scout that waiting for that heavy to hack while you cover is like trying to drag a horse with the buggy?!
Can we look into this?

Sounds good.
This just looks like a client side update, and with so many things on their plate, I wouldn't expect it on the forefront anytime soon.

But in the time it takes for you to type out a message that will probably be ignored anyway, you'd probably be better off just actually fighting. Plus, you can just voice in Team Chat anyway.

Plus, you can just voice in Team Chat anyway. Before I came to New Eden I played a lot of Battlegrounds in WOW. Many of the Battlegrounds in WOW are setup very much like a Skirmish Match in DUST and the tactics are relatively similar, despite one being a fantasy world of swords and magic while the other being set in a distant future in a galaxy far far away.
WOW had team chat that was visible in game. Yes it would take time to type a warning, which would delay your own reaction to the threat you saw coming, but a form a shorthand was created to convey the most info possible with the least amount of typing.
A DUST equivalent would be something like: GÇ£Inc A, 1H 1L 3AGÇ¥ Meaning GÇ£Attention kind sirs, there appears to be a Heavy, a Logi, and 3 Assault suits incoming at Objective Alpha!GÇ¥
Of course even with the short hand, using voice coms was always way more efficient than chat text, so when Rated Battlegrounds started everyone had to be on coms, but in Pub matches it was necessary to rely on text for those who were not on Coms. In DUST there are a lot of people who donGÇÖt have a mic, and they have no way to communicate with their team.
This is a feature much requested on the Legion forum. I am not sure if there is any chance of us getting it in DUST.

Anyone that's down can send the sos. The option to do so is needed. Whether you use it or not is up to you.

Yeah, but if we could just type there and they got the message flash on screen we wouldn't need to comms up with them.

idk...The last thing I need in a dom is the ability to tell people theyre idiots across their screens. Dom especially will show you, if you watch from the overhead, how little actual thinking most players use. If I could flash a message across player screens that said, "gtfo of the redline scrub sniper I'm dropping an ADS delivery on you" right before Scotty delivered....well, that would just be bad. Hilariously bad. OK, I'm in.

Prehaps what we can do is both have the team chat appear semi transparent in the bottom left like in pc games.
But what would be a good idea is to have team orders that work like squad orders. These orders would be a quick message to the team like need support at alpha! Or squad B will defend Charlie! And even things like need ammo or repairs for the individual. That way the blues on your team can see what your squad is trying to do

Well we tested out the team chat theory a few times today the results were very very bad you ask them to bring an uplink and they said idk how . Can you cover a point and watch our back while we shread these red dots . 2 seconds later! Baaammmm dead ask them where wore they? They say snipping . In all realness either they don't give a shytzo or they really dont know how to play the game... So a s.o.s to a location for those running solo would be great . And once they reach the S.O.S call location it disappears from screen.... |

i put uplinks in obscure, strategic, safe places red dots don't think to look for, what do blue dots do? spawn mass driver or sniper.
so a "get down here and help push the point" message would help especially if you could spam it

All the good player's know where to place a good strategic Drop link lol not placed face to the wall execution style lol ( but about the topic : i think/suggest only sqd leads should be able to request blueberry support To non-squad player's that are at 80-100mts away to either push or hold a location. On the capture , defend etc commands should be a requesting support option. |
