I think that only applies for people that suck at solving the raids themselves or in need of a more traditional hand holding type of gameplay.

I am just saying its fairly common in an mmo to look up a guide; have someone explain it to you or rather they practice the execution over exploration of the mechanics and that not every guide, hand holding, or video is still not ever going to replace actual experience of beating the said boss itself.

Since Raiding in EQ back in 1997 up till last time i raided was in Rift from trion worlds, we have always done without guides, just the lets go balls deep approach and see where we get tonight, but yeah newer members where explained the mechanics, witch usually lead to some guy being afk and saying "BACK" after the raid officer was done explaining the encounter. /facepalm.
I hope the raids in Destiny are going to be really though and i hope they won't cater to the whiners who join a random group and expect to beat it first run, if not get on the forums and whine whine until they lower the difficulty.
Rift also boasted really hard "Hard" mode dungeons, as in it took us 6 hours to clear it even after doing it several times with a dedicated group, whiners whined and lo and behold it took us 35 minutes all of a sudden down from 6 hours.
I just hope really hard means really hard.

FFXIV been going the other direction lately.
Hey see this raid we gave you? It was very pre nerfed. Here's the unnerfed version even we at the office couldn't beat.

How to make your players bald.
Step 1 introduce highly cordinated required raids.
Step 2 introduce random raid member finder feature.
Step 3 popcorn.
Step 4 ???
Step 5 profit in selling toupees and wigs.
In my short stint in the beta for destiny; I can see this being a thing already that tank boss took 2 hours to kill because my team mates where not exactly that intelligent.

Most random pickups in Dungeon group content have an IQ below 80 with an attention span of roughly 2 seconds, how do you think they fare when you throw them into Raid content.
In Wildstar ive met people that last 2 deaths as a Tank, with 2 healers unable to keep their spongy lifebar higher then 20%, then they say: OMG this is pointless and quit, if you then inspect those same people they are wearing DPS gear.....while que'ing as a tank and insisting we need more dps then an extra healer.
Sometimes i would just wanna reach out and strangle these people through their LCD screen.

Hey rei! Are a bunch of the rainbow people going to be playing it. If so, then wont have to worry about lousy randoms screwing things up. Im only going to do raids when all my bros are on. No way in hell, will I do a raid with randoms.

You need some decent friends IWS. Depending on randoms in any game is a recipe for disaster. For every one that has a clue, there are fifty more that do not. Case in point, I enjoy BF4 on the PS4, but lord oh lord, those 64 vs 64 matches where I have lousy teams can make for a frustrating experience when none of my peeps are on.

Well see IWS...... I mean to be quite frank..... at least Bungie is set to release a fully fleshed out game.
Whether or not this is over hyped means little......since it cannot literally be more disappointing the Dust.

My friends don't follow me from game to game though I have to make new ones each time and while playing destiney didn't see any comms or heard anyone so other than being another stranger that annoying the crap out of your missions I can see making friends in those games to be pretty hard.

Eh I walked into it expecting a lot less...... it's certainly not going to suck me in and keep for a long time.
It's no Mass Effect, Tales of Symphonia, or Valkyria Chronicles......
But for a game..... it looks pretty, has a nice sound track, wealth of content, all in all solid PvE experience.
What it does lack is Style, Lore, complexity.
And while Dust tried to achieve the latter 3 it fell flat on itself when
- Original Style which brought beta testers in was scrapped in favour ot bright colours and less gritty themes - Lore from EVE was barely included, and players were excluded from New Eden - Complexity was dumbed down
I mean PCLAS has done more lore worthy, RPed, etc operation through EVE players than we have ever had the capacity to achieve Dust side. I mean last night we helped knock over, with the rest of the Golden Fleet a player installed Blood Raider base and rescued 9000 malnourished and tortured slaves from Nauplius' horrific facilities.

Ya, playing with decent people should help the "needing help from the internet bit"
Think they are just trying to hype the game as much as they can ; so tough u might have to look online for help, you may never finish the game, and that bit about not being done with the game until you kill every single player in pvp is a bit ..ehh.
DeeJ is just a bit dramatic lol.

What is more shameful the fact the game website made an article or the PR guy made the article possible?

Its been a very long time that i got hyped about a MMO type game release, possibly the last time was Rift and it was ok until you had a full set of raid gear and only could make use of it on the next raid instance, outside of it there was no content to use it in, other then the now trivial "hard" dungeons.
And the new raids while they did release their content really fast was plagues by bugs, bugs and more bugs, i didn't even get hyped by Dust, because i knew how it was gonna end.
I already know for a long time that a second Ultima Online, Everquest or Everquest 2 will never be released, nor would people have the attention span to go through 50 hellish levels with very little to no knowledge about the game, before a game is released now everything is documented till the last grain of sand.
Well see where Destiny ends, just like how Dust is ending, i had a good time in it and i bet that ill be having a blast in Destiny until i won't be.

2 hrs to kill the spider tank? I could see that if it was just being soloed but with 3 people it should not take more than 15-25 minutes with 2 randoms.
Maybe I was fortunate but you must have had seriously bad luck with your fire team.

yeah the other guys constantly ran out of ammo and I had to resort to punching the drones he spat out and because the other two couldn't survive his machine gun fire and because they where uncoordinated I could never get my gun reloaded in time to take advantage of exposing his neck and fight off the adds that spawn at the same time.
