I'm thinking that maybe the other sidearms are less used because people are not willing to skill into them? Or do you think that a mlt/std variant of a sidearm should be effective enough that you don't need skills into the weapon for it to be useful?
In other words, who here has high skills into an underpowered sidearm that can give some feedback on why the weapon is still terrible. ___________________________________________________________________________________
For example
My favorite sidearm is the bolt pistol. Granted, I don't feel it is as effective as an SMG...but I've actually used it solo against other heavies when I ran out of HMG ammo...and found that it did a suprising amount more damage than I was expecting.
Heck, It's rather satisfying to get a kill with a bolt pistol from a long distance away when you're using a sentinel...yet I only have level 1 operation. This makes me think that maybe the bolt pistol isn't terrible...I just need to actually put some points into it lol __________________________________________________________________________________
I will be gradually skilling up the bolt pistol with my available sp, and I would like to see if there are others who have already done the same with their sidearm and could give some feedback on their experience with skilling into the weapon.
Does the weapons still feel drastically underpowered? Is the weapon's operation bonus at level 5 a big enough of an improvement? Does the prof bonus help much? Is it still more of a finishing weapon or do you think you could use it almost as a primary weapon if you needed to?
Scrp prof 3 Flaylock prof 3 Operation 1 ion pistol and I love it and will skill once its fixed in delta magsec prof 3 Bolt pistol prof 4 LOVE THIS GUN needs two more shots in the mag smg and nk prof 5
Scp : needs at least a 400 rof
Flaylock either needs: Too shoot faster with more damage on splash or stay the same with 6 in the mag
Ion: needs less charge lock
Magsec: Needs same scope as smg and less kick and needs to work like a close quarter gun that hhas range no a small rr with more kick.
Smg. Reduce range (but personally you can cry as much as you like I think this gun performance should be the skeleton all sidearm s should be built around not nerf it.)
Nk:
More user friendly and alot easier to rush head on and kill with 2.5 m I feel this is boarderline noob friendly not like the old days when we had two wooden spoons
BOLT PISTOL :
This gun needs two more in the mag and it would be perfect and also it needs a pg reduction especially at proto, 14 pg???! Scp is 10/8 pg for the carthem and viziam, smg is like 8, you know whats 14+-+ the rr, scr and proto md so ya the BOLT PISTOL pg can be lowered.
Have to be careful with the smg so the nerf doesnt nerf the MINMATAR ASSAULT since it he cr is recieving a change as well which will not make it wise to use two projectiles on that suit although thats what its ment for.
Yes, you just got rocked by a guy with a BOLT PISTOL and a pair of knives! !
