It would make sense both game mechanic wise and realistically. Amarr weapons are +20/-20 so why not Minmitar being -20/+20? This would push it in line. Since Gallente are already +10/-10 with Caldari being -10/+10.
As to realistically making sense, of all the things that should be lousy against some sort of force deflector aka a shield, it would make sense that the most conventional, gas powered projectiles, would be the least effective. Rail pack a higher punch making it harder to deflect while plasma and laser/scrambler tech have a greater sustained effect growing more taxing on a force deflector while being less hardy at punching through solid mass like armor.
If anything, the fact that explosive is -20/+20 encourages projectiles to be the same. You are telling me these bullets have a greater shockwave than explosives? |

That is not what minmitar is about. Minmitar suits are the weakest all around but also the fastest. And likewise, projectiles have the lowest damage totals while being the fastest firing.
the strongest all around is the amarr but they pay for that by being slow which means they are easier to focus fire, and they have the weakest shield regen and their weapons with overheating reflect their hard hitting yet unsustainable nature.
Caldari are the shield tanks, heavy on shields but weak in armor with a focus on long range skirmish style fighting, popping in and out of cover.
Gallente are the armored reppers. Their weapons favor close range combat which makes them excel when fitted properly, armor reps/ferroscales/reactives and kincats/regulators. They don't have the raw speed that the minmitar have but their heavy low slot layout lets them push their sprint speed while not compromising too much natural speed for quick bursts of closing the gap. Not too mention how fast a gallente kincat/repper can force targets close.
Why people often dislike their dropsuits especially Gallente is because they don't understand the suits role. A lot of newer players brick tank Gallente not realising that they are better off doing so with an Amarr suit. Then the Gallente RPers wonder why their AR sucks when they can't close in on the target. It's also why a lot of them use Rail Rifles. |
