I am trying to recall Valor suits being a thing. I don't think I have any, because I don't even remember them existing. o_o

Yeah, don't expect this, like ever. BPO LAVs are probably the "best" BPOs in the game as it is, for how much free utility they give you. (I call BPO LAVs in like candy, probably use at least one every match.) BPO HAVs would be nuts.

Haerr wrote:Speaking of the BPO lavs, how large part of all equivalent ISK value used from BPOs do they stand for? :)
Probably a lot. I don't mind, they're free war point candy for my forge gun. ;)
In a lot of cases, BPO LAVs probably don't take a lot from the possible ISK spent in a match though, because a lot of people just wouldn't call LAVs at all if they didn't have the BPO ones.

Turkevich wrote:What will happen to these BPOs when/if Legion launches?
The inherent problem in this question, I think, is that Legion isn't a game yet, so they don't really know what will and won't be transferable. And if transferable, how things will transfer. But I would like to think any AUR purchases at bare minimum would be refunded back to AUR that you could spend again. In some things, particularly collectable/vanity things like suit skins, will be in some form hopefully transferable to Legion. With the clear disclaimer that no, CCP has not said anything on this ground for transfers, I'm recalling CCP Z's progression talk saying all suits were BPOs, so I wouldn't think transferring suit BPOs would be completely out of the question. It really depends what Legion actually is when it's launched.
ResistanceGTA wrote:Whatever happened to, perhaps, maybe, being able to get BPOs of different races?
I think these might be in the range of possibility (noting that new variations of existing items is generally possible in hotfixes), this is a good thread to mention desires for these things.

Nirwanda, honestly, as far as I know, nothing is "set in stone" for Legion. So a lot is potentially possible, little is promise-able. I don't think CCP wants to make the mistake again of promising things it cannot deliver.
Turkevich wrote:I don't think a statement like that is out of the question and that would be a perfectly acceptable solution to me. They could preface the statement with "If Project Legion becomes a product..." to make the lawyers happy.
Personally, I think that's reasonable. If I were CCP, I might make a statement like that. But I'm not CCP.

Riruodo wrote:BPO's sound like new content.
Also, if CCP can add BPO's, and if they can tweak numbers and paint schemes, who's to say they can't come up with new classes.
or variants of already existing classes?
or variants of already existing weapons?
Vehicles?
As far as I can tell, only maps are permanent. I'm so so so x1000 happy that BPO's are coming back... but why only those colors? I would like a Scarlet and White Caldari Scout Suit.
Or a Caldari Assault with Cyan/ Teal highlights! Or the valentine suits I see every now and then in FW.
Like, all of that, is pretty much somewhere in the realm of possibility. Personally, I'd love to see more variants of vehicles come back to the game. I've seen a fair bit of support for it on the forums, and I'm hopeful it's possible.

Dj grammer wrote:It would be nice if people could also buy BPOs using ISK but the cost is insanely high. Only suggesting this for people who do not want to buy aurum.
Honestly, this is the sort of reason a player market would've been really nice. Because free to play titles do require some things be sold for real money. But the cool thing about player markets, is that players can buy things for AUR, and resell to others for ISK at a premium. But the idea of CCP selling AUR items directly for ISK is self-defeating, particularly when a lot of that ISK was gained using exploited game mechanics.

Medic 1879 wrote:If I am my money would be on CCP releasing the most popular for AUR, then after a short time release the rest "due to popular demand" making their money grabbing scheme seem like they are being generous to the playerbase. Meanwhile they giggle to themselves realizing people will buy AUR for BPO's for a dying game with no guarantees that the follow up will even occur let alone carry items over and they do all this for very little effort as they are simply reusing old stuff.
I know that CCP has made mistakes in the past (a lot of them), and will surely continue to make mistakes in the future, but I wouldn't presume to characterize CCP as mustache-twirling villains trying to swindle you out of your money. While they have not been particularly forthcoming with their plans as of yet, I think people should be confident CCP will find a way to honor people's investment into DUST in Legion in some form. And also that DUST is not dead by any stretch of the imagination.

Plus, CCP can't be the villains in this scenario. You're the Englishman. ;)
In seriousness though, the CPM wouldn't be on board with this if we thought this was just a short term cash grab. The white tag has not fully indoctrinated me.

Breakin Stuff wrote:make them do BPOs other than the old four. include them, by all means. But damn, why do they keep re-releasing the SAME FOUR DROPSUITS???
I really want them to do new suits too. Time to showcase that whole racial parity thing.
Bear in mind, this thread is very much feedback collection for them, and the least effort is releasing what they already had. If support is really strong, I'm hopeful they expand from there. (I think even the variants not available from these sets were technically in the database back then, which is what I mean by 'already had', even if not 'previously sold'.)

Bayeth Mal wrote:I have a BPO LAV and it didn't cost $100 by itself, it was part of the $100 pack.
There were cheaper ways to get BPO LAVs. I know the promo codes that came in PS3 boxes in the EU were available on eBay for like $6, but I think they're expired now. And I think the like $50 pack had a BPO LAV too.

Second Cerberus wrote:I'm really torn on whether to support encouraging players to buy Aurum for DUST. I have a lot of respect for Rattati and the other Devs trying to make the best of the tools they have to keep the game going. (Thank you!)
With that said, the community was keyed up to see the future of DUST at FF and instead saw a basic demo for a "new" game on a different system and now months later we still know about the same. For me, the lead-up to FF was borderline unethical as sales of boosters were promoted heavily when the decision had already been made that there was no plan for any more significant updates to the game.
Simply titling the thread "collector's cache" implies there will be a persistent and ongoing use for these items, hence why you would want to collect them. CPM posts in this thread have included gems such as "plans change" in reference to potential updates to the game and while they are not CCP, they are looked at as a source of information on CCP's plans that ordinary players would not have.
PLEASE don't make the same mistake Rattati. I believe you have the respect of most of the community because you seem to be forthright and honest. If there truly are no plans to develop the game further and / or you can't honestly say that CCP plans a future for DUST at least 12 months from now, in my opinion do not introduce these suits. If you cannot make these assurances but players want them anyway, at least be crystal clear about that. Hell, if you clearly stated you can't guarantee any future for the suits and to enjoy them as much as possible while I could, I still might buy one out of respect for your honesty.
TL:DR - "Yes" to BPO's with full disclosure. "No" to a second "FF style" cash grab
I have your forum signature on a T-shirt. Without the CCP part.
CPM members wouldn't be supportive of this if we thought CCP was going to take the money and run. I'm not sure any game company can give you a 12 month assurance of where their business will be, but DUST's playerbase is actually growing, and CCP Rattati and CCP Logibro have done a fantastic job resurrecting our little zombie game. I can at least state that as far as I'm aware, there is no sort of death date for DUST, and I can't fathom them shutting it down if it's making money and it's playerbase is still strong. And if and when that date comes, we will encourage them to announce that as soon as humanly possible so people are aware of the timetable.

Mauren NOON wrote:No. I am very against rail and combat rifles getting bpos
I really think combat rifles and rail rifles should see BPOs. It's not really fair that only two races get BPO rifes, but the other two don't. If it's a balance issue, that means we need to fix the balance issue. Not avoid offering item parity.
