What I mean is, everyone had to skill into proto AV to make a dent and now that tanks are better balanced whenever anyone sees one its the proto fit that comes out

AV is very good atm, the only thing i would like are tank variants,a bit more expensive and remove the possibility of Jlav

Lol, you call it god mode and yet they were incredibly weaker overall in 1.7 than they were in 1.6. They were easier to use solo, yes. Stronger, no. Simpler, yes. Possibility for teamwork, no. I miss all the excitement of pre-1.7 tanking. Oh god how I wish those days would come back. It was so much fun and you could actually use teamwork with vehicles.
Why do you now see only proto tanks? Well, there's proto and then there's militia. You see only proto tanks because tank battles last as long as infantry battles last, just at a much higher cost so you want to have as low TTK for yourself and as high survivability rate for yourself at the same time, so everyone is using proto because everything else gets destroyed instantly in a "fair" fight. And with proto it's all about the first shot, whoever fires first wins.

AV pre 1.7 was a lot more fun simply because tanks weren't so cheap.
Whenever you blew up a tank it felt like an achievement, it felt like you just put a dent in that guys wallet and removed a tank from the battlefield.
Now 10 seconds after you blow up the tank you can see another one being called in inside the redline.

Agree with both of you, i remember time when you could spider-tanking,time when gunner on tank had proto small turrepts, sica were dead tanks movimg on the map but most of all there was no passive regen

PLC and swarms just need faster time from fireing to hitting target.. and maybe a nominal buff to AV nades and Proximity mines and then i would probably say dust would be ready for the reintroduction of the old ADVANCED vehicles and then balance them accordingly to feedback+data

AV took a severe nerf with swarm's range nerf & proto swarms being reduced to dealing the damage Std used to deal, FG charge times increased, AV nade damage reduction and of course the damage mod nerf had a huge impact on AV. Then tanks got buffed (from AV perspective) so tanks that could dual harden (armor or shields) and barely receive any damage or use triple reps to out rep almost any damage unless you alpha'd it to hell and back with a group. Also can't forget fuel injectors that turned the tanks into Formula One cars.

Proto? I just blow it up with MIlitia. I can literally deny vehicles on the enemy team from coming into the general points of a map just by sitting with a basic forge, while chopping about 60% of their health away with each peek they make.
Tanks cannot sit still, and they cannot persist on the field longer than about 3 minutes before someone charges out with a couple of AV fits that demolish the tank.
If someone ever has a problem with a tank, as they are now. I suggest to that person they try taking a nap. When they wake up, if they u still cannot handle one by themselves, I suggest to them a change of games, because aside from making tanks blow up the moment an AV weapon touches them, you really can't get much shorter lifespans out of vehicles.

I don't see what's wrong with tanks. I just go where my team is and support them in my 150k basic tanks. Everytime I die, it was either due to coordinated AV/Tank fire or me overextending/getting greedy. I can see where tankers are whining about losing their 500k tanks, but with tanking being incomplete, I don't think players should be putting proto mods/turrets on a std tank. It's the same as putting proto weapons on a std dropsuit.
Somehow, even with the decrease in how much tanks cost, many tankers never learned to balance their isk. And if you are running 70-150k tanks stop complaining, you can utterly wreck several 150-200k proto suits in quick succession and over an entire match. |

That only really worked because the Logi cars had passive resistance equal to having active hardeners. If they weren't bugged and functioned like normal LAVs players would just blow up the LAV much like players kill the logi repping a heavy. |

I wouldn't say it was bugged, maybe a broken mechanic but then again, without the passive resistance it would have been useless, driving a LLAV was all risk no possible reward role if you didn't use it for murder taxing. 0 WP for doing your intented role, yeah, I can see why people used it for murder taxing. That meant risking around 300K isk and the highest rewards at the end of the match were around 40-50K.

Tanks were the most OP right after 1.8 launch. Right now as a forge gunner I am pretty happy with how well i can hurt a tank. Granted i can't 2 shot or even 3 shot most tanks with my set up but i sure can put a hurt on nearly every tank with 3 hits. This at least buys my team some time to rally and get AV ready for the tank to come back.
With 1.8 and the hilarious bugs that were in it tanks were OMG fast and impossible to beat and the repers acted so fast tanks ducked behind cover for 10 seconds and came back full hps like nothing happened. |

There's like 100 dudes that saw the bulk of all that ISK.
And they could afford to run proto 24/7 because they are insanely good with 5+ KDRs.

I would have liked to have seen the effects of increasing the blaster dispersion first rather than the nerfing of hardeners/reppers. Could have encouraged some good tank v tank fights |
