thanks CCP for jacking almost everything i have spec'd into. I agree with game balance, and trying to make the game new player friendly. However having a skill point based system, and rewards for sticking around, this game will never be new player friendly. When i started playing dust, my first games out of academy were terrible, at best.(0/15, 0/20, and the like) Every player in a top corp has gotten there butt blown off in the beginning, but rather than crying on the forums about every other piece of gear being op, they learned from there deaths and tried to get better. Now you will find us running well spec'd proto in pubs and factional warfare. The reason swarms are not one hit kills vs. ADS's and tanks is either due to vehicle operator skill/ fitting or a lack of skill on the side of the AV. AV needs to be used in teams to be fully realized I know there are many Proto swarms suits that i fly away from and don't die, but it is BECAUSE i fly away, that i live. Not that vehicle are OP. I do not believe that any thing in this game is grossly over powered, 99% of all enemies/ situations have a counter. The issue is the player not being spec'd into the counter. Not the protagonist being over powered. You can see cloaks shimmer, R.E./shotgun heavies, and jihad highly spec'd vehicles. The issue is not game balance, it is the players themselves. CCP give me a player market like EVE, and let players spec around the things you have buffed/ nerfed, and quit jacking with the game for like 6 months that's all i want.
I would like to hear other opinions, with or against me. |

Can't ever create a balance Dust514. It's theoretically impossible. It's not even being hateful or bashful toward CCP. It's really the game design elements. Simply put we're so far into sh*t in this game there is no way whatsoever to create a balance or something close to it without massively updating the game. Likewise they already announced we can only expect hotfixes.
There is so much game content that's already here that the most we can opt for is pray nothing else gets shitted on more than it can. I have repairs, drop uplinks, logi, an assault rifle and ion specced into. I already know combat and scrambler rifles are superior, ions make for only flashy fireworks, that drop uplinks are nice but not useful and the game would rather that the history of the logi faded into distant memory.
No amount of changes, adjustments and fixes would make this game anything beyond a 2suit game with vehicles and snipers. |

I still dont understand the bitching and complaining that you guys do about this wont work and that wont work.
Heres an idea.
Get together with your corp or people that you play with. Put some time and effort into the things that you want to change. Lobby with your CPM and get the things that you want to change in the game. They are all ears, if it is a big enough deal in the DUST community.
If we all want something to change. Bitching about it is not the way to change it. The way to change it is to have a voice. speak up to the right people about the things you want changed and lobby to get them changed.
This is a forum. This is where our thoughts and ideas are heard. Mind you, I have bitched and complained about CCP bending us over and pulling out the rug from under us, but that is not the game play.
The more we show CCP our immature behaviour concerning things that really dont matter the more they wont listen to us. No matter how long we have played this game we all know that it is a broke ass game. Yes we all know.
Now is the time to come together and change it for what it could really be.
Hot fixes. Should they be in the game. YES I do beleive they should be implemented. What they do in those hotfixes, we can have a say as to what those are.
Lets all stop complaining and get down to the real issues that are presented to us.

I think the current CPM 1 is too rooted into the idea of more hotfixes. They have a bigger goal now.

I would like to hear other opinions, with or against me. the hotfixes are all they can really do with most of the team over working on legion to bring it up to speed so they can split the team back to 2 groups and update Dust ALONGSIDE Legion

Personally, I think the Hotfixes have been great.
You see less tanked FOTM scouts, less heavies, more assaults, more weapon variety.
It is not perfect, but things are a heck of a lot better, and are moving in a better direction. More so than anything in the first 6 months or more since Dust's official release.
