A friend of mine (who, barely plays Dust, for the record) passed 20 kills just by sitting in a rail turret.
Not saying rails are OP, I'm saying the reds in that battle were absolute idiots to not even attempt flanking, all while standing nice and still for the direct hit. The few times they attempted AV, it was about 50m away from the turret, so they were easy kills.
This is how stupid the infantry who whine about tanks are.

So... avoiding something that would otherwise kill you is cowardly and foolish?

This is how stupid the infantry who whine about tanks are. So you are saying rails are so easy to use a n00b can farm a match? But the problem is with everyone else? He was farming n00bs. It is much harder to hit a strafing target with a rail. Something similar was said about sniper rifles. Look how that ended.
With snipers, we weren't dealing with ones sitting in the open, on the ground and close to the frontline.

There's your problem, irishman. You're trying to use logic. You should know better. They're going to scream bloody murder that tanks are unfair till the day they die, even though you and I both know if you're in a tank and I get six seconds behind your tank, there's gonna be some serious feelings of violation happening in rapid order. But engaging a tank or ADS intelligently is too much effort. I only do it because people get mad when I remove half a million ISk from their inventory.
ADSes are another thing.
And so many damn factors to take into account to figure out of they're balanced that CCP should have removed them with the rest of the vehicle variants.
