it depends on what TTK you want, the old TTK or just a slightly higher TTK. Compared to other games like cod,bf, it's pretty spot on, which you can argue it shouldn't be because we have like 7x the hp as those games. I'd say the TTK is a Tad short, a scout compared to a heavy is just too huge a gap to really give an estimate on what ttk should be, not to mention the frame rate and lag that happens in dust. You can't really give advice on something as sensitive as ttk when the game has so many mechanical problems (draw distance, rendering, cloak/uncloak, sprint glitch).

No. Not when a scout uses a shotty, remote, or even combat rifle.
Not when someone pulls out the Burst HMG.
Hell, not even when I get hit by a rail rifle... snipers have been giving my logi trouble as well

Once upon a time, in the age of the Caldari Slayer Logi, TTK was incredibly low. Good times. I terrorized on the field. Your field awareness had to be high or you died before you could react in time to save your own hide.

It feels pretty good to me. 1000% better than 1.6-1.7 era.

I want the TTK where two players could be engaging each other in close quarters while having no higher than 400 eHP and both would run out of ammo on their main weapons and then would frantically try to finish each other off with their sidearms or instead, try to melee each other in the face.
I miss those days. |

High TTK is good if you like long drawn out battles Low TTK is bad because it shows that no matter what you fit you'll die in less than (insert short amount of time here)
TTK in this game is really low, as in it takes ages to kill someone, most of the time by the time you get through someones shield & armor they have already died of old age inside their suits.
Idk if you play other FPS games, but there even if they have shields or armor it ussually takes around 3-5 bullets to finish someone off, or 1 in the head. If you don't know what i mean check my vid in my link below. (4 bullets kill anything)

How do players have time to wiggle at each other in those other games?
Shoot scout with yes.

For a game with custom armor specs, the time to kill is far too low. You build armor to increase engagement times, but frankly it does nothing really of the sort. Call of Duty has very short engagement times because you do NOT invest in your character, nor does it cost you anything if you die.
Imagine if in WoW or EVE, if the TTK of every battle was 8 seconds. Nobody would be playing those things, but because of personal investment and character choice, they increased the TTK to about 2 minutes or so based on character decision and skill cycling. Yes it can take longer to destroy someone if you play your defenses right, but that's what makes the decisions put into the character worthwhile.
Basically put, if your TTK is too short, putting "skills" on stats that evaporate within an instant only marginally helps anyone, and makes the need to skill into items seem more absurd, the shorter the kill times. Why? because the difference in effect of high and low skill allotments collapse into one another the shorter the time gets, but they become more noticeable the longer the time gets.

If there isn't wiggling, how can you tell whether or not someone has gungame?
Well it helps to have allot of situational awareness and fast reaction speed and high accuracy and target priority judgement, most people have none of the above or have 1 of them, you mow these guys down 5 in a pack before you need to reload, because the TTK is so low, you can actually kill an entire team before they can react. Thats not something you can do if you have bad gungame, but still 1 guy outflanking you could get the drop on you.
In blacklight they only let you recover health to 50% of your total, so if you got damaged, you are now 2 bullets to kill, so eventually someone is gonna get lucky and kill you and this is done in order for even the less experience guys to score some kills or take out a high threat player and feel good about themselves.
Dust does not have any hand holding mechanics for bad people to feel good about themselves, they r just additional meat for the meat grinder.
