This is a call to all of those that wish for a respec. My proposal is that at 25 million skill points a respec is offered to every character that reaches this milestone. At 25 million you have played this game a bunch and possibly even bought AUR. You should understand how the skilltree works and what class(es) you like to play and/or are good at. You should also by this time understand the consequences of your choices and whether you take the respec or not is on you, but it is offered to everyone with 25 million + skill points.
So for reaching this silver milestone you should be offered a complete neural remap of skills. Call it the "neural purge" to get rid of useless knowledge, kind of like playing with DS10 when Drunk Night was in full effect. You get it once per character at 25 million skill points and can keep it as long as you want, but once it is used you will never get another respec for your character.

Way to high of a skill point limit. 5-7 Mil SP should be the limit. You should know what you're doing by then. If not, it's time to learn |

I support this. It should be an augmentation where it lasts 1 day and you can go into a skill book and go back and unspec giving SP back for them... So it doesn't just wipe your record you can edit it back and unspec weapons, suits, vehicles, modules etc. But no book refund.

No, 25 Million is the limit. At less than that you don't have core leveled up. You haven't used multiple weapons at PRO 4-5, you haven't been out-classed in a fully proto suit. You haven't ran a fully fit Madruger or Gunlogi, flown a pimped out ADS. You haven't done anything at 5-7 mil SP other than call up an alt you created a year ago and decided to skill into the newest FOTM.
At 25 million skill points you have earned the ability to reset your character, and the catch is you only get it once and only after you reach 25 million SP. That would take almost 3 years for a passive alt to reach. I find the 25 million rule just and called for. |

ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!!! I like this idea. An augmentation that allows you to reverse SP spent. Yet you still own the book so if you ever want to skill back into it you just need apply skill points to it. This will be an edit in my OP. |

No. Once you hit 25 million, you've had quite a few chances to change your play style. Just guessing this is one of those posts where someone says "respecs should only be given to people who... let's see what groups I fit into"

25 million!!! that's like, only beta vets!! Legion will be out by the time I get close to that number!
I think that number is waaaay too high. If you want to set up some sort of benchmark why not increments of 5? Every 5 million you get the chance to respec.
At 25 million you probably already have all your cores maxed and a good chunk of developed weapons. What more could you possibly want?

Yes I am an alt of someone but my main is only 32 million SP. There are people approaching 80 mil SP. 25 mill is a small number compared to 80 or even 35, which I know a ton of people hitting 35 mil or are on their way to 40 or 50. And I know you have over 25r million SP, so what is you problem with a silver augmentation? |

Poor tutorials, a short battle academy, long grinds for small increments of skill percentages...
vets are so far ahead of us it's not even funny. I'm not saying I want to be insta-vet, like right now. I'm willing to die 1,000 times before I get the chance to have my first proto-whatever. But to give only vets a respec is kind of a slap in the face for everyone who is somewhere between new and intermediate.
btw, I have 1.18 million sp. 5 million seems like a long ways away, I don't even want to think how long 25 million will take.

2.>This by all accounts should last until you reach 3-5 million SP, and there should be no WP cap on it. At 1 million SP you should be given the option to do regular matches if you so choose. This would not affect your ability to go back to academy if you are still under the threshold though.
3.>Small percentiles add up in the long run and while you might not see the advantage now, over time you will. 2% here, 5% there... it might be the difference that gives you the edge in a close battle. I know I see the difference from going from a PRO 5 HMG to a PRO 3 on my other account right off the bat.
The point is vets will always be ahead. They know the game better than you do, but with a respec at 25 mil, you also know the game and whether you want to spend that respec on FOTM, or what you are good at is up to you. Go back to my OP and look at the "silver augmentation" idea. Where you have a single use augmentation that allows you to move skills around willy~nilly for 24 hours and try out whatever you want to do. Then at the end of the day solidify your changes and say, "I have tried out all the options and this is the one I want to go with." Now don't you think that would be grand? |

So the proposal has changed to where at 25 million SP you receive an augmentation that allows you to move around all your SP for 1 day. Want to try this, go ahead, want to try that, go ahead. But once the day is over unless you confirm the final answer, say that this is the SP spread you want, it reverts to your original character sheet from before you implanted the augmentation. I think this is a winner until someone in thread comes up with something better. EDIT 2: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=174126&find=unreadAfter reading that thread is 25 million so much to apsk? Look at all the 50+ mil in that thread...
If there was a respec everyone will get a respec. It would be nice if they gave an option.

I love the idea of a milestone to respec, but I believe 25 mil is too high. I reached 15 mil a wek and a half ago and I desperately want a respec. I know what i want. I have learned from corpmates and squadbuddies and from trial and error how to set up my suit. The problem is I specced into EVERY light weapon and sidearm. Why? Not allowed to buy aurum and becuase they didn't offer militia variants of just about every gun at the time. Its only slighty SUPER ******* EXTEREMLY GOD DAMNMOTHERSHITTING UPSETTING that they added militia variants AFTER i specced into every gun. I think that if by 15 mil lifetime SP you don't know what you want to run you should just go play COD. I have made many insignifacant mistakes like speccing into lavs and REs , but i can never get back the 6-7 mil i spent on weapons alone.
I suggest 15 mil and perhaps 20 mil at the most.

I have 24,800,000 SP.
And I still say no.
Sure, there are places I don't like having spent SP, but respecs only encourage FOTM chasing.
The 1.8 respec was one of the worst things that could have happened at the time. I advocated for it at the time, but have since very much regretted it.

Unless you constantly buy boosters, you won't be seeing 25 million until sometime next year. Honestly I think a respec should be in order once Rattatai finishes with the hotfixes. |

At 25million you SHOULD have the game figured out. Yes you will have made a few mistakes, but there is an old saying: 'There is no such thing as wasted SP!' Which is true. Yes you may not be using that Assault Rifle or that Flaylock Pistol at the moment, but there may come a time when you want too/need to use it.
As for those true mistakes (like when I skilled into Ion Pistol before I found out how uber bad it was...), well in that case you just need to harden the fuck up, bite the bullet, and move on. Sure you may have wasted some SP, but guess what? You can earn it all back.

I don't understand the hate on the ion pistol it has its uses, like when you just want to have essentially a ScR for a sidearm that you can finish someone off with. |
