FFS can we get the payouts increased or SOMETHING??
Maybe a 200K bonus for getting over 500 WP? Something to get people fighting. Use cheaper gear if you feel the isk isn't worth it. No one said you had to proto stomp in pubs. Isk payouts are fine, learn to be strategic and to not overcommit or go full tilt. You have no one to blame but yourself when you lose 3 tanks and 10 proto fits in a single match etc. etc. Yep. They are great! That's why nobody AFKs or redline snipes Most people afk or redline snipe because their team is full of newberries. Raising the isk payout will do nothing but inflate the already inflated economy. What's the point in even having an isk system if the isk payout compensates for bad play? Besides if half your team is afking you should be running standard gear. You would have to die like 30 times in a match to lose isk in standard gear. The only way the half afk/sniping matches will end is if real matchmaking is introduced. This would probably require pubs to become squad prohibited though so be careful what you wish for. Inflated economy, lol. The single greatest myth in Dust. Incentives drive behavior. Get paid more to perform well and win and you will see people trying harder. AFK (zero WP) should get ZERO.
I'm down with that. I mean, I'm totally one of the people who's usually all Save the n00bs, but a real simple fix would be to make it such that if you go 0/0 and 0 sp, you get a commensurate 0 SP and 0 ISK for the battle. No matter how n00b you are, you can always manage to hack a supply depot, get a single assist, hell, even die just one time and you get something for it.
I imagine it would be pretty simple to do and would allow the poor newbs to get some reward and stay viable while unabashed AFKers would be discouraged, at least slightly. Yes, they could just drop in a starer fit, hack a redline installation or get killed and then AFK as normal, but at least they have to do something to get rewarded. Anything harsher might not be worth it as making life harder on AFKers is not more important than allowing new players to progress.
