They should just go ahead and make it stay this way. I would play more and I know a lot of others would too. It would also help keep new players in the game instead of getting bored with the slow as dirt progression. |

I think while it might be good for new players, this would kinda be insulting for vets that have put a lot more time and money to get their SP. I would be ok with a bonus SP for new players up to a certain amount, say 10 mill or something, after which they are just like everyone else.

I think x3 SP through ~5-8mil SP for new players would be sufficient. That's about the range where, if you're spending SP wisely, you should be able to perform well in a single role. That way, players who have gone through the grind of mastering multiple roles (from both an SP and experience point of view) will still have something to show for their time while allowing new players to get into the game more rapidly.

5 mil to start of with... When we started we had to make difficult choices... And grind through hours of gameplay... Took me 350+ Days of straight log in and hours of gameplay to reach where i am now... |

It needs something because the pathetic SP given doesn't let you buy into any role even half way. You can't compete starting out even part way. Also I think the vets being like 40m sp ahead of us. they could give 0 ***** about us getting slightly more sp. because we will never catch them sp wise is impossible. because by the time we do they will either quit or be maxed out in everything. |

Totally.... 40m = all basic upgrade paths pretty much maxed for usefulness. vs 1=4m where most new players = not near the level of having a half ass fair engagement or just close enough to make them frustrated.
Also I refuse to no life 1k sp for hours to try and play catch up its stupid. |

I have 50m and I still run around in adv logi with proto repair tool. I mean I've had most that maxed since 15m. The rest just goes into things like vehicles and other roles you can play with. 10m is certainly plenty to get a decent single role filled out, problem is new players don't know the right skills without help and they spend it poorly.
Most of the players I hear complain because they spread their points out so much that they never move beyond the militia/std gear to the adv things they need to be competitive.

19 months since open beta started, passive/booster since then, playing on and off, playing most of the triple/special SP events. That is how you get up, not 1king it. It takes times to build it and there is no shortcutting it.

Totally just because you suffered everyone should. No point in making the game bring in new players. No point in keeping the player base interested. We should all just be as bitter and prideful as you and punish those assholes for joining the game after you. **** everyone ever for wanting to enjoy a game instead of you know playing it. This slow SP progression might work for EVE because of these few things Dust will never have.
1. The ability to just explore the galaxy. 2. Missions yes actually missions not the BS we have. 3. Trading yes you can buy and sell anything. 4. The ability for corps to actually mater and feel like groups of friends instead of just most of them being ISK sinks. 5. Actually varied and complete PVP experience.
I know there are more but guess what if 5 don't change his mind its because hes so stubborn and stuck in everyone should suffer. |

Rollover sp with a cap at 10 mil. Allows you to have a life one month & work to get your gound back the next.
Current weekly sp cap is fine, sp progression should keep pace with player skill progression. If everyone can skill into a proto suit within their first month they may never develope the playstyle to compliment thier roll. Just excess proto scrubs wasting isk & still not being effective on the field.
There is value in the grind, do not discount your time/experience.

Ya because 2.8million lets you stat into a suit fulley in a month. maybe if you just go only proto. not including armor or shield mods or damage mods or weapons being maxed or sidearms being maxed or grenades being maxed or pretty much all the other things that make a real PROTO suit not just a half assed one.
I personally love the style of the game the suits and weapons that acually vary. My only issue. I hate the grind. Its fine when it feels fluid. But this system feels like a series of cliffs and pits more then a fluid system of leveling. |

That actually made me laugh a bit. If its true thats pretty horrible. though I am not saying let the COD players ruin the game. I am saying quit having so many dead days. Hell I don't play all that much and can play for like two hours a day for 4 days and hit the cap. thats being causal as ****. I am not even trying anymore because. I am losing interest because of the SP cliff. |

Groz'zar Kazoku You have missed the boat on this one. The issue has been brought up many times before. We tried to get things like roll over SP caps, more generous SP for starting new players, make the game less of a grind but alas if you missed the memo, Dust514 is ending.
Give the new players higher starting SP, give them some bonus to get started, beyond that, it is not the SP that keep people around, heck CCP has given us 2M SP before for just logging in and playing a match. More SP is not equal to more interest nor will it bring in more players. If you donGÇÖt like the grind, then at this point, with the countless threads before this one as proof, it will be forgotten.
I hear ya, I had similar argument back in the day, now that I have SP to fill in the roles, I basically have no real reason to log in and play for extended periods of time, it just goes both ways, the game needed more than just SP gain as the reason to play but that is just not going to happen in this iteration.
Best of luck.

Lol I only have 1.7m SP and with I'm having a perfectly fun time with my suit. You guys are all whining about moar SP please and as a new player I find that the New Player Experience isnt too shabby (although still frustrating at times). Albeit I would like to earn SP faster bc I don't play too often and don't receive much SP besides passive gain. But there is no need to complain.

That would be my point. Currently nothing keeps the new players feeling like they even have a chance. Plus we literally have dead days were the number of people on drops like a stone and half of those on are just sitting there not playing. I get more conversations out of Eve players then I do actual dust players most of the time. |

As some one who has been playing since early closed beta and wasted months upon months grinding and capping (and then grinding out 100's of thousands of sp post caps), I wouldn't even care anymore. I've got perfect fittings access to 4 proto suits and virtually every major light weapon prototyped to the point that ammo capacity is about all thats left to skill, at this point SP is just a oh I guess I'll get a new suit that I use whenever I'm bored or incase CCP gets too frisky on balancing patched.
I don't log in for the SP, for skills I would even marginally use I'm still looking at a month+ to cap each of those skills and even then won't offer me anything new other than a dozen or so rounds. If it meant new people might stick around for a little longer to shoot I'd be down for it. We don't have the same kind of breadth of skills that eve does and never will in this iteration. We aren't getting any new content ever again so the skill system is just meh to me. |

<-- Open beta vet, since Jan. 2013.
Protostomping vets are part of what continues to ruin the NPE, which is why our playerbase has always been stagnant. Triple it permanently for new players, up to 20 million SP. It would be better for noobs, since they might actually start sticking around because they don't have to grind so damn much to be competitive, and would be better for vets, so we get more competitive matches all around. Vet seniority shouldn't count for anything.

The problem is new players have to suck up about 4-6 months (If you're a casual who really grinds hard for a casual) of getting ass continually pasted to become competitive.
This is pretty crappy so far as NPE goes.
10-15 mil can't come fast enough, and it's beyond most players' attention spans. We need MORE players and more players to STAY if we want to see Legion come about or even to have this game retain some longevity. Greenlights don't grow on trees. |
