Cloaking in its current form is great. It creates a viable niche for scouts however that being said there needs to be a counter and I am not talking about loading 3 proto scan enhancers. I would like to open a topic of discussion looking at a module that would bring down the cloak field. It could be worn and broadcast over a area and have a timmer much like a cloak field. It could be a equipment that is placed on the ground that creates a safe area.
Currently cloak fields create a loop hole that is easily exploited. Cloaked scouts are now able to be top killer in any match. For lols I am runnng 2 ion pistols and coming out in the top 3. I look forward to hearing every ones response. |

You can see them while they r cloaked you know and "if" they notice that you have noticed and stand perfectly still, just scan the area with your crosshair till it turns red, he's standing riiiight there.

and this may lessen the QQ about bricked scouts with cloaks with rifles or w/e

Active scanner.
Cloaks don't lower your profile much anymore, so a good scanner should be able to pick them up unless they're stacking damps on top of that.

Should've said "Not another Cloak is OP" thread...
Triple SP event is ON... So get some SP, spec into it or use proper suits to Counter it... Btw, teamwork is OP... Write next thread discussing how Team work needs balancing... Gal Logi with Proper modules and equipment... Try that scan... People still complain about scanners, since it's no Longer "Jump, Hold scan and do 360" ... Learn to use the tools given by CCP if something in the game bothers you that much... Honestly, People need to stop crying over every single thing in this game and honestly need to get good... Hotfix A, B and C had some flaws here and there, but overall there's a sense of balance now... People just cry over stuff they don't have... it's been like this since day 1 .... So ccp please remove garbage thread likes this... |

And why they shouldnt be top killers? It all comes to player. And in addition, scout suit is very good tool for this.
To the topic. Cloaks are fine now. Std/ADV cloaks are worthless (only 10%buff gives egnouth damp to not use 3-4rd damp). They got decent timers, are easy to spot.
Better have a look at gun. Ccp is going to mess around them in Delta.

I have a fully proto scout and proto skills. I have always ran a rail rifle but yesterday I put on basic knifes and realized just how out of balance the cloak is. Getting in close is so easy and with the nova knife douvale combo I am taking down 2 or 3 guys a suicide run.

1) Add a second between decloak and equipment/weapon usage.
2) Have at least one person on team, maybe two, running an amarr decked out with precision mods or a gal logi with a focused scanner. This will capture all but the most dampened scouts, and force the max dampened scouts to sacrifice tank and thus be easier to kill.
3) Frequently check your surroundings. As a cloaked scout, I am much more reluctant to challenge a red that is constantly moving and looking behind him and to his sides. Especially in the open.
4) Run with squads. A lot of time someone having your back will kill that scout before he gets to you, or finish him off just after. If there is a scout or logi with a repper, they can revive you and save the suit and isk for you. In fact, a lot of times scouts will refrain from attacking groups for just this reason, unless they themselves are part of a coordinated effort.

I believe that you should decloak if you take damage. I also wouldn't mind if you had to manually deactivate the cloak before you could switch to your weapon, but, ho hum. I think that cloaks should help in getting from A to B, not be a major asset to slaying. This is why cloaks are OPEEEEEEEEE.

Point 1 is the only point that requires a change to it's operation. This one little things would balamce it completly.

i wanted to propose an equip like that i was gonna say like a wall that you could deploy. Ill use GRF map as an example. You put an re like thing on one side of the wall and one o. tge other then it makes a cloak wall that you cant see suits through but fluxes and other weapons can destroy/distort/deactivate it.
