In the future the rules of physics do not apply. In the future space ships fly on fairy dust and hope, not fuel and energy. In the future people can move around without spending energy because what the hell its the future.

Strafing, jumping, hopping, and all forms of evasive movement need to stay.
Except of course that the fact heavies are slow as hell would be come a more concrete fact, on the flip side engaging at your range using cover would also become more standard. Of course in my opinion maneuverability should always exist but there should be a focus on that there is such thing as physics.

Edit: Strafing in here is a *****, yes, you are correct.
You can't deny the earth like qualities that exist in the planets we play on. For example when we shoot our guns we hear sound which means there is an atmosphere, when a grenade explodes there is fire and when a combat rifle shoots there is a orange flash this suggest oxygen; the fact the entire planet doesn't explode from shooting a projectile weapon means the concentration of oxygen is low. There is an existence of plant life with chlorophyll, this means gravity is high enough for roots to penetrate the ground and the presence of co2, or something similar for plants to complete their photosynthesis cycle.
With all this in mind we can establish the atmosphere is similar to that of earth's. Applying that logic to a drop suit when we jump out of the mmc we don't accelerate extremely fast which means the components of our suits are extremely light. So weight of the suit, or any mechanics augmenting and compensating for the weight can be dismissed. So this means moving in a drop suit would be like moving your body on earth so physics should exist.
