Where will CCP take Dust 514 ? The PlayStation 4 is here, the next generation of gaming will begin on Sept 9th. 2014 along with new interesting titles later in the year like, The Division, Dragon Age Inquisition, Witcher 3 and PlanetSide 2 moving from PC to the PS4. The reason I brought up these games is that the gaming industry is moving to open world, mmo/action rpg's. The future of gaming is getting interesting from a technological stand point. Imagine games where there are no limits. A friend asked me what kind of next gen Dust 514 would I like to play. I told him a open world Dust 514 where I could be more than just a mercenary. I could fly ships, shoot people build research and development companies to expand wealth in a EvE /Dust economy in real time. My character is a master of all trades if I desire in the virtual space.
Alot of my buddies were telling me Star Citizen will be that game, I replied that New Eden was special, Dust 514 and EvE were unique. The lore was amazing in this world I took part of. I had never played a game that had so much conflict between players that it was fun to make your own history or story as a player among thousands . This game had impacted gamers in so many personal ways that some people actual forgot that it was a game lol !! I'm a gamer I play PC games console games everyday and I never really felt a impact on a decision in other games like I felt in Dust 514. My character ROEG X was always was on a adventure, meeting new players, squading with friends and starting crap with other players for no reason with trash talk. All fun in Dust 514.
Even though I've been tracking Star Citizen and have talked to the devs about a possible release of a PC game, that was crowd funded for PC could ever make it's way to the PS4 in the future? Because I played Wing Commander IV on PS one I felt Star Citizen needed to be on console as well. That's how I feel about Legion, I played Dust 514 on PS3 and I felt Legion should be on the PS4. CCP did something amazing they cross platform a pc and a console if CCP could do this imagine the new possibilities for gaming. I wish CCP could just make whole new EVE game / open world real time immersion, your character is everything, ships weapons and all assets are just tools for your arsenal.
With a history as rich with lore as any game, a real time open world game would be amazing. CCP you have made some awesome strides for gaming, whats next? Lets see if RSI gets it right, I would love to see a in-depth EvE game.
