Have you figured out any pattern to it? Like one thing I discovered that I hadn't realized, is that vehicles in the redline have their own redline timer. If they entered the redline before you did, they'll blow up with you in them.

Professional mercenaries have developed a sixth sense for just this occasion, they don't worry about this issue.

Basically, getting killed early in the redline is equivalent to getting killed by the Guardians in Halo games.

This issue has already been confirmed to be lag related. Watch the timer carefully while you sit in the redline, you'll notice the numbers sometimes jumping back upwards instead of linearly counting down. You however still die at the exact moment you are supposed to. It's a display bug. The timer shown to you is incorrect, but you still die at the correct time. |

No, the actual time varies.
Because, that's why.

If that's the case, maybe a simple solution would be to set the displayed timer to a lower number. For instance, put it around 13 seconds. I often die with 7 seconds left. If the displayed timer was set to 13 seconds, those deaths would look justified as the timer would've got to 0.
Basically my point is that there is nothing more annoying in a game than doing exactly what the game tells you to avoid death, but it killing you anyway due to arbitrary glitches. If the game was warning you that after 13 seconds 'anything goes', those deaths would be a lot less infuriating. It would almost turn the glitch into a 'feature'. After 13 seconds, you can take an extra few seconds to get that redline sniper, but the game has let you know the risks. It would be a 'risk/reward' thing rather than 'I was too busy processing other stuff and accidentally instaglibed you, my bad'. |
