Okay so when I come up against mouse and keyboard users they always seem the outsrafe me because they can quickly move in different directions while moving quickly into unpredictable directions. I use a regular PS3 controller and my only strafe is the big slow round circle. Cam someone explain me why these mechanics are different ? Because it is an unfair advantage over a regular controller player. Can't count how many times I got owned by (caldai, gallente scouts) <- biggest starfers } who were dancing faster than Michael Jackson while shooting with Viziam's or Six Kin's.
Anyone can relate to this ?

It has nothing to do with the controller or kbm, it is easier on the kbm, the main issue is that there is no slow down when changing directions in this game. Meaning you can move left at 5m/s and instantly without a loss of speed move right at 5 m/s without losing speed whatsoever.

Yes they probably kill me with aim assist but the thing is they move way to fast and my reticule can't adjust quickly enough to aim because thay already moved in another direction that is not a circle (diagonally)

That "Dead Zone" on the analogs is where they'll beat you.
You can come close with a DS3, but it'll require you to completely relearn how to strafe. Controller Settings: X Axis, cranked all the way up. Y Axis, <20 When engaging a "strafe fight" you can't rest your thumb on the left analog. You have to lightly flick it back and forth.
*I just thought of another way (it may just work...) You could put a rubber band on the analog so that it pulls hard to either the left or right. When you engage a fight, you release and allow the band to snap you hard in one direction, catch it and push back quickly, over and over. I would equate this to driving a car with terrible alignment. It may constantly pull to the left but if you release the wheel and yank it back to the left, the left to right movement is both more exaggerated and aggressive. Just a theory...

Anyone can relate to this ? Practice, dont circle strafe if its you and a 1v1, just short small left and right. Circle is good for multiples, or random incoming fire when camping a given area. But you and another 1v1 in cqc use short left and rights. Keyboards have a slight advantage because they dont have to move the sticks and they have no neutral zone its just left or right, but many can still be out maneuvered.

It was better in halo 1 pc with no aim assist but still useful to confuse aim assist now. Without strafe we would just line up like the brits and see who could out dps-áeach-áother. Yes they probably kill me with aim assist but the thing is they move way to fast and my reticule can't adjust quickly enough to aim because thay already moved in another direction that is not a circle (diagonally) What you have to learn is 1. Be on the hipfire in these situations, no ads. 2. Use your strafe to aim, dont try to hit him using the aiming stick. Use the moving stick to aim with. I am calling them this so you will understand. What happens when you use the aiming stick in cqc to try and track the target is you over correct mainly because of YOUR aim assist. So you make slight, very slight adjustments sometimes with the aiming stick, but most of your tracking is done with your strafe or counter strafe.

With controller, you have to get the analog stick to shift from one end to the other.
Ultimately, there's a very small difference (assuming you're not a slug playing with a controller and can actually move it quite easily and quickly), but a difference nonetheless. Controllers have more "lag" because of human limitation and the only thing that would equal playing grounds is to "nerf" KB/M controls do that it mimics those human limitations and in effect, slow down the player's strafing. However, we all know that won't happen because Can't Code Properly and the fact that those using KB/M would cry about it. |
