Dust is in shambles with the player count looking stable only because of ISK alt farming. Seriously, what the hell are you people doing? Leaving consumers in the dark is no way to keep a fan base. The fact that soon(TM) even exists is a result of your inability to follow through with anything. Maybe its time to talk to the EVE players about a boycott untill progress is made and announced.

At the moment you are an entirely different consumer base than CCP is aiming the theoretical project legion at.
That said, as you are not intended to "consume" anything in relation to the project, it means as far as PL goes you are actually not a consumer and therefore it makes perfect sense to keep you in the dark. |

Wait, so a player who actually comes to the forums related to the project is not apart of the consumer base?
Also, they are keeping everyone in the dark.

My point is, legion forums are here, not on eve. Ergo this is the target consumer for PL.
Same goes for valkery. Thier forum is ther, not here. Ergo that is their target consumer.
Don't see how this has escaped everyone in this thread so far.

As a Eve Pilot I am really interested in the fact that Legion will be on the PC. If it does come to fruition I will gladly play it. In fact I will fully embrace it. As stated previously, to call for a boycott from Eve pilots on issues with this game or community is not going to happen and will fully be rejected by the Eve Online Community.
At the 2014 fan fest when Legion was presented most of the "consumers" in that room felt it should have been on the PC first. Personally, I like the fact that CCP games tried a FPS on the console and welcome them with arms open for a big loving Grizzly hug to come back to the PC with Legion. I welcome all of you to the world of PC games.

I saw the Livestream of Fanfest 2014 for the Dust 514 Keynote. Almost everyone in that room cheered with absolute glee when CCP Rouge announced that Legion is coming to PC. Keep in mind that the vast majority of Eve Online players didn't want any involvement with Dust because it was on a console rather than on a PC.
Anyways, back to the OP's point, I like to tell you something...
The last time CCP said anything at all in regards to what's coming for Dust, it never came to fruition. Promises of bubble shields, fighters, being able to use the skyfire battery, trading in the secondary market, etc. never came to be for Dust. Endless blogs of empty promises and interviews whose hype was full of hot air never helped either. I want CCP to stay quiet and just show us what they did with Legion ONCE IT'S ACTUALLY READY.
EDIT: To quote CCP during the 2011 Jita Riots, "let's watch what they do, not what they say."

It's weird how the FPS is on PC, but the flight sim is on console.
Just sayin. Are EVE players not interested in Valkery because it's on console, because that's where the forums are (EVE online).
I'm really tired of the poor planning by CCP and the excuses from the player base justifying convoluted or oxymoronic ideas.

Partly because Valkyrie is on console. However, CCP might still change their minds and expand Valkyrie to include the PC. I'm ok with combat sims being on any platform because nowadays you can just get a joystick peripheral for your console or PC. World of Warplanes demonstrated their flexibility with either KBM, game pad, or joystick without making it seem as if any peripheral had an advantage over the other.

I looked more into it after your comment, and it looks like it may be getting a PC version as well which will prove that not only can they build for PC but also port a PS4 release along side it.

I'll grab the link to show you. Edit : it will be for both platforms. Here at the bottom under references. It says it's being released for both. As it's being developed on UE4 it will be able to play on literally any platform they want. I hope this means they will release Legion the same way. No use cutting out half of your consumers.
That is the beauty of the Unreal Engine and how you can make a game for multiple platforms. But not all games port that kindly in terms of game play or modifications that a studio makes to a game engine. There are lots of variables here that can crush it like "Upper Management" (just kidding ) and then the tech of a highly modified version of the Unreal Engine version 3 with games such as Dust 514.
You know the fact that this game will be on PC is an open opportunity for CCP games to let the community make textures, mods, weapons, armor, and clothing for cosmetic items much like SOE does with Planet Side 2 and have it posted on the player stores. You know, share the wealth. Build a database- easily tracked and doable. Pick one currency and go from there.

I don't think CCP will release Legion the same way primarily because they burned themselves severely with the development of Dust 514 which ultimately proved to be an utter failure on many levels. CCP feels it's better for Legion to be on the PC for now, let it build up in the one platform CCP knows best, and then possibly think about going back to the console once the game has stood up again on its own two feet. Honestly CCP should've released Dust on the PC first which provided a suitable development environment for it to grow and then later move on into the console just in time for the PS4 release. But instead, CCP did it the other way around and on a console that is now out of date no less. And with the lack of proper management as well as suffering a major loss on the development of World of Darkness, CCP had to rethink everything. So I can't blame them for choosing Legion to be PC only for now especially after that huge setback with Dust.
PS: Wikipedia, unless it is its own wiki website sponsored directly by CCP itself like wiki.eveonline.com is, is not a valid reference to me. Sorry.

This is complete nonsense. Peak Concurrent Users, the metric most players use to judge activity, require that those characters be logged in at the same time. Whether alt farming or not, a PS3 can only be logged into 1 (ONE) character at a time.
Player count is up because we have more players playing the game.

This. Of course, the alt farming still needs to be addressed. But again, this is a Dust topic that belongs in the Dust section, NOT in the Project Legion section.

It's good to see the pre allocated skills in cores too. Adds to the NPE as new players will get a grasp of what to skill first before specializing. Core skill will apply to any role they choose and will make it that much easier to adjust to the universe of New Eden.

Yes a PS3 can only be logged into one account at a time. the count is not instantaneous but taken over a period of 30minutes so it includes all of the accounts logged in over the last 30 minutes
