I have tested this multiple times, with multiple players on different days, on different servers and game modes. I have also checked the math multiple times, so I know something is wrong with the Cal Scout and its new range bonus.

The base scan range on scouts is 20 meters. The "Range Amplification Skill" adds 10% per level.

With Level 5 "Range Amplification Skill" and the Scout's base range the math is this: 20m x 150% = 30 meters.

On my Gallente scout this is accurate as I have tested it and it does scan out to 30 meters.

However on top of this the Caldari Scout Bonus is supposed to add another 10% per level, so with max skills the math should look like this:

 20m (Scout Base Scan range) x 150% (Range Amplification Skill) = 30m x 150% (Caldari Scout Range Bonus) = 45m.

However, this is not what is happening in game. I have tested is multiple times with corp mates qsyned against each other and My maxed skilled CK.0 scout is still only passively scanning enemies (light, medium and heavy frames) out to 30 meters when it should be scanning them out to 45 meters.

Skills are not supposed to have any stacking penalty and even if they did I should still be scanning more than 30 meters. My Cal with a 50% range bonus is scanning the same distance (30m) as my Gal without the range bonus.

The Caldari Scout Range Bonus is also not applying when I use range amplification mods either.

With 1 complex range amp on a Max Skilled CK.0 Scout the math should look like this:

 20m (Scout Base Scan range) x 150% (Range Amplification Skill) = 30m x 150% (Caldari Scout Range Bonus) = 45m x 145% (Single Complex Range amp, no stacking penalty) = 65.25m

Again this is not happening in game. With one range amp I am only passively scanning to about 43 meters when it should be 65 meters.

Here is the math with two complex range amps on a Max skilled CK.0 Scout:

 20m (Scout Base Scan range) x 150% (Range Amplification Skill) = 30m x 150% (Caldari Scout Range Bonus) = 45m x 145% (Single Complex Range amp, no stacking penalty) = 65.25m x 139% (Second Complex Range amp with 1st level stacking penalty) = 90.7m.

But once again in game my CK.0 Scout with two complex range amps is only passively scanning reds out to 60 meters when it should be 90 meters.

And before anyone tries to say something smart about my testing I just want to point out, I know wtf I am doing. I have been a scout for almost 9 months and a Cal scout since the first day they came out. I know how the passives work, I understand the mechanics.

All of these tests were performed out in the open on flat ground with me looking away from my corp mate (on enemy team). We tested the range many different ways, with me approaching the target while backing up (not looking at them), they approached me while I was looking away, I approached from the sides as well. We were strictly looking at the tacnet the entire time and the second the red would show up on the tacnet , whoever was moving would stop, we would then face eachother and see what my distance was to the red. This is the only way to test passive scans as looking at the red screws up how the 360 passives work. We also tested this against scouts, mediums and heavies just to be sure the DBs weren't effecting the results and they weren't.

After all of my test I can say that the Caldari Scout Range Bonus is NOT being applied. It sucks that CCP took our Precision Bonus from us, but it sucks even worse that they replaced it with a bonus that IS NOT working.

 Please fix this CCP.

You can't "look at" the target when testing passives. You have to look away from them. That is the only way to test the actual range of your passive scans.

You made small mistake, It should be:

Base scanning range from dropsuit + all % bonuses with stacking penalty added to them = total range

 20(Scout frame)+100%(Caldari Scout & Range Amplification Skill on lvl5)= 40meters.

As I pointed out in my GD thread on this subject you are incorrect.

The math I provided on this subject is correct according to every source I can find.

Even Protofits.com agrees with my math as you can see in this screenshoot I took of a Caldari Scout Ck.0

 http://i.imgur.com/3lXJSdC.jpg

With LVL 5 Caldari Scout and LVL 5 Range amplification Protofits.com shows that the Cal Scouts base scan range should be 45m and with two complex range amps it should scan out to 90.77m, even though I already stated in game this is not happening as I am only scanning to 60m with My max skilled cal scout and two complex range amps.

My math is right and my point is right, CCP needs to fix the Cal scout range bonus so it actually works in game.

Bravo Izlare, I'd been very sceptical about whether the bonus was applying, great to see someone who has actually tested it.

This really needs to be fixed ASAP. The Cal scout effectively has one fewer slots than the other scouts as long as the bonus (which is equivalent to a complex range amp) isn't applying. I certainly won't be touching it until a fix comes along.

Ok. So I have a Cal Scout fitted with 2 comp prec, 1 comp range and I seem to scan at about 66 meters - - i'm wearing a CR. When I put on 4 comp prec, 1 comp range, wearing a RR I only seem to scan at 50. Then, with 4 comp, 2 comp range, I again get around 60. Something is still wrong here. Perhaps it has to do with the number of precisions, perhaps the primary (everything else on the fits is the same).

I want to see my 100 meter scans please. I also want to be able to see single dampened Gal/Cal scouts at this range. Please double check that you've fixed the bug.

Would you mind expanding your math? How do you get 100m, 60m or such. I don't have my PS3 on but this is interesting. I have a Gallenti scout (dragonfly) and run Minmatar scouts (fast running or fast hacker) although that is all I use them for.
