I think it's so you can form tactics and play as a team together to try and defeat someone else doing the same. Really it's just that, a team deploy that you have to wait a stupid amount of time for.
It takes a lot of work before and after PCs to get it down. Finding FCs, squad leaders, and players to fill roles isn't easy. Explaining to players that they can't just run off and lonewolf is tough. Many, many players get irate when you lose and they immediately see it as validation that they knew better.
The ringing situation and the entry barrier to PC really killed the game mode early after it's release. The lack of a team deploy UI and the lack of a low stakes team deploy really makes it even tougher. If it had involved more players and CCP would have pushed the team aspect of Dust it would be thriving instead of this. More players would see that things aren't nearly as unbalanced as they think when you can control more of the factors in the equation.
It truly is a shame that more players aren't involved. It is awesome when your team is really clicking and/or you take down someone you may have worried about or defended that district with a severe lack of clones.
It's just like the solo player never experiencing solid team play. PC is something that people should strive for. It is just really, really difficult to get down. I don't think we were proficient in getting out of our spawn until 3 or 4 months ago. We'd always have some little hiccup or the other team would just flat beat us into the city.
I'll say it again, it's a damn shame more people don't strive for it. It's ******* awesome

I'll say it again, it's a damn shame more people don't strive for it. It's ******* awesome I understand that but most of the pc's I went into was filled with ringers. What's the point of having a district if you hire other people to fight your battles?
Well I think it's for different reasons now. Stacked timers are a bother for sure. Some super try hard corps HAVE to win constantly or their members flock to the next bandwagon, but really it's a small community. I think people enjoy PC and especially folks that fill roles like ADS are always needed.
Some teams don't have FCs, don't have disciplined members and simply HAVE to have ringers or it's a **** show to the third power.
I know how it feels though. Up until 6 months or so ago it didn't matter who you attacked/attacked you it was the same pool of 40 or so black belt ninjas. It kills the motivation of the members on both sides. The only people enjoying it are the the ringers. Corps that rely on it are really holding themselves back. Especially now that people refrain from taking last districts (non cocksuckerz anyway).
