I still do fine against the burst with my MH-82, well 1v1 anyways, it's when there's two of them I get worried. The burst eats through ammo too quickly and after it overheats the one using it is fcked; hell you could shotgun him to death from 20 meters away before the thing cools down (seems like it anyways). Still, the burst is damn good when the blueberries don't get in your line of fire (I swear they did it intentionally every time I pulled the trigger last time I used it).

Sounds more like luck than skill to me but whatever. Luck? Hardly. No more luck than a shotgun scout is 'lucky'. The burst HMG basically operates like a short range SG, requiring the same type of aiming skill. Put some Kin Cats on my suit and I'm basically a fat, slow, highly visible scout. I'm like Kung Fu Panda with a burst weapon! +1 for the Kung Fu Panda.
Anyways, the shotgun is a short range SG and the burst is more like a mid range SG. Honestly, I don't see how you could compare aiming the burst with aiming the SG though. The optimal and effective range of the burst is a good bit farther than the SG that I just can't see the comparison unless the person you're trying to shoot is right on top of you but if that's the case then the same comparison could be made with almost every other weapon.
