The most they could have caused is loss of earnings somewhere and gamer butthurt.
A fine relative to how much was lost in earnings and ban would suffice. If they are unable to pay then they should serve x amount of time in a maximum security prison.
Killing someone who hasn't taken a life is ridiculous and Draconian.
