I downed a fuckton of proto assaults and scouts. I slapped 2 complex damage mods on my gallente scout, and flanked 'em and ganked 'em. Holy crap. This gun kills fast at range. Just shoot behind cover, then fire (edit: DRAG the aiming thingy onto an enemy) when you see an enemy.
EDIT: It's amazing...why don't more people use it?

Laser Rifle is actually pretty good.
The Average DUST player is not.
I can see the Amarr Commando and Logi using this as a long range support weapon.
It's really the only weapon in this game that acts like a Light Machine Gun "Purpose wise"

It was implied. Nerf the laz0r r1fle. It needs to be nerfed just like the breach flaylock (I shot some dude in the head and he died).

I'm confused. So him saying that he flanked some guys on a suit ideal for flanking with a weapon stated to have two damage mods on top of him putting emphasis that the weapon does good at range which it's supposed to.
I can't relate to the common poster anymore so maybe it was Q.Q idk but it didn't sound like it.

The LR is probably my favorite weapon in any FPS I've ever played. It has such an interesting and unique mechanic to it. It's incredibly situational, but a ton of fun in the right circumstances. You WILL get shotgunned & sniped while using it though, and you're going to need an Amarr assault with hives and stacked damage mods to really shine with it.

Agree 100%. For a while there, if the LR didn't exist, I totally would have quit Dust. It keeps me coming back when everything else gets lame. So goddamn fun it just defies explanation.

Same reason no one uses the assault rifle. Player's don't have a lot of imagination and just spam the same ****. Hell you can pants a lot of the PC vets or could a little while ago (They might of wised up by now) by running a shield heavy suit with an assault rifle and watch yourself cut through their Caldari scouts armed with CRs.
Edit: Also like people have said its one of the few things in this game that still has a "I'm right ******* here!" neon blue beam pointing at you. It's hard to use in that situation without team support or the enemy team being ********, kind of like tanks. Hell I can't even see the sniper trails half the time these days when I hear them zip right past me and I'm looking right at the sniper, render issues, thanks alot Obama. |

Actually the Assault Rifle KINDA sucks. The Burst and Tactical are fun and decent though.
