I'm tired of all you guys whining on the forums. I have SCR Prof 5 Amarr Assault 4...and can tell you right now that it is good in the right hands but is not OP just because you can die quickly by it.
Yes it could use with an increase to dispersion. Yes, the RoF needs to be reduced SLIGHTLY (down to about 600 or so).
But can we please at least understand why the RoF is so high? I demonstrate in this video how RPM means an average, and not just how fast you are firing at any one time. By decreasing it to such a low level as 400 or 500 you risk breaking the weapon from the inability for it to fire as smoothly as it does.
The CR has this issue where if you press the button as fast as possible it fires very clunky, whereas if you time your button presses you can fire it almost automatically (please see this video for that explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLAwF860swU)
We don't want that to happen to the SCR, please understand that. __________________________________________________________________________________
The SCR has many counters:
-Shotguns -Nova Knives -Plasma Cannons (Amarr suits move slow enough to get direct hits easily) -Rail Rifles (key here is outrange with an armor based suit) -RE's -Heavies with HMGs -Armor tanked suits -Fast strafing at distance -Profile dampeners + flanking (make sure you get the alpha...I like to use a sentinel with a burst HMG)
If the player is an armor tanked suit with a SCR, use a scout and sneak around or use agility to outrun them/distract them If the player is a scout with a SCR, use a heavy or heavily armored suit. They will think twice about trying to kill you, often overheating before they realize you won't go down easily.
Survive long enough to take the first amount of burst damage and you will kill them every time, or make sure you get the drop on them.

If you are using a shield suit and you run into a scrambler, your best counter is the ability to run away faster...unless they're a scout, at which point you can just hope that your HP is enough.
I die quite often in a shield suit going up against a scrambler. If I can avoid the fight I will, but the scrambler is literally supposed to be the hard counter for stacked shields. Especially caldari sentinels

You obviously don't know me. I am the player at the top of the board every match. I always do better than everyone else and in a pub match, don't care about blueberries or not.
If I wanted to win a pub match that badly I would get a good squad going...it's only in FW that I would never want someone to waste a slot on my team. At least you still get most of the rewards for losing a public match.

No I completely agree with what you're saying...it's just that I have a video of me using the scrambler rifle and you can see every argument I make clearly shown in that video.

It's slightly old, but I can make a new one if people really want me to. Just kinda busy with some other videos I wanted to make. During that video, I overheat a lot, or have to wait for the weapon to cooldown, causing me to not be able to apply my DPS all the time. I lose out on a lot of kills this way as well as having to duck behind cover more than usual.
But you can also see me rapid firing that thing like crazy.

Because the AVERAGE RoF isn't humanly possible. In other words, it's impossible to maintain that RoF over a period of time.
But it IS possible to get a high RoF for a fraction of a second...with a low rate of fire, during this time you might press the trigger and the weapon wouldn't fire the shot, leaving the SCR feeling very wonky/clunky.
We don't want that, which is why the fire rate is so high, to allow for a smooth firing experience that will always fire a shot when the button is pressed.

Yeah, I generally find that the scrambler rifle is good at CQC and long-range, but has an issue with medium range.
If you ADS at medium range and good player can outstrafe your ADS "look speed", making it hard to stay on target. But hipfiring at medium range is rather ineffective since the dispersion is quite large compared to your target.
