1* Both of these features are old features dating back to Chromosome where variants either provided a huge advantage or were just slightly better than a lower meta variant. But with all the changes since then most variants do the same thing just slightly different and rarely do they now provide an advantage over the regular variant.

AR is a close range weapon, as is CR, Rail is mid-long and scr is mid.
Actually AR is close range, CR is short-mid range, Rail is long range and SCR is mid-long. But every single one of these weapons are about equally effective at short range when hip firing or in a normal cqc fight because there is barely a difference in the hip firing accuracy.

Basics have more speed and eHP than logis with 1/2 (or less if you count equipment) the SP investment. Use a logi suit,then you'll QQ about something valid. Basics aren't supposed to stand out,they're basic. The specialists should have the best stats per class,not the basics. The specialists should be so much better they make everyone want to skill out of basics. INB4 give basics 2 equipment slots (NO!)
you just proved my point... basics aren't meant for anything useful except skilling out of then have no real purpose, because of that they are a waste of SP. So either make them useful or get rid of them.
Your right they have more hp than a logi, but a logi has more slots, so by comparison a logi can get way more HP, you have bonuses to give you a role and purpose, and your suit is actually useful for something.

That little %5 reduction in kick shouldn't be making a high precision long ranged weapon insanely easy to use. It should be making it bearable to use. There's also the issue where the stronger rail rifle variants could pretty much kill players in nearly every suit way before they could react.... How does one defend/combat this? Not many ways.
I use the Rail often and it's kick in ads is pretty spot on but it's hip fire kick barely has an effect in its performance, not only that but the spread is so tight it helps negate the kick even more.
This goes for all long range weapons. In reality these long age weapons should have the spread of an ion pistol or bigger. With the combat rifles spread a bit smaller than the ion pistol but larger than the AR.
