So even if they reduce the sp needed u wont see more proto suits in battle. Also adjusting skill tree would result in a respec <---almost all including CCP doesnt want that to happen.

If your proto suit of choice is available in the LP store, buy it that way; much cheaper. I still haven't taken any suits to proto. Just Gal scout to lvl 3. But I can buy proto Gal scouts from the LP store, when I want to run them. Desperate attempt to get BPOs

This is the reason it is so SP intensive, not only do you unlock the suit, but you upgrade the abilities of the STD and ADV suits.

Because with my 4 proto suits I want the difference in SP back if CCP decides to drop the SP costs. We all have to grind it out. To answer your question a proto suit is worth it for: - Suit bonus per lvl - CPU/PG - Slot loadout Going proto but not using them still transfers the bonus to the basic and advanced suits, so it's always worth it.
