Last night i broke out my burst hmg when my side was loosing a battle. This is is better than sliced bread! The only suit i had issues killing was a scout suit and i am betting that was due to hit detection. O is that an assault frame? Brrrrt.. dead. O look a heavy. Brrrt.. dead. Lol O how cute they have outnumbered me 3 to 1. Brrt... Brrrt... Brrt... brrt.... Lol area cleared. O look hey i am at the objective. walk around look around. Toss grenade at objective.
Hacking... killed by scout with shotgun... dam.
In all seriousness though i see why people are so aggrivated with the burst hmg. I am also going to say its not going to stop me from using it. I might even spend the money on the six kin burst. So if you see me waddling around on the field you better take me out from afar because up close i will mow you down. |

In my mind it should be the heavy equivalent to a shotgun. If they lower the RPM again it won't matter too much unless they drop it to equal RPM of 2400 which would make the gun useless. I think the best option would be to literally make it a "Heavy shotgun" and lower its optimal range to something similar to the shotgun, maybe a little further since it's a fat suit only weapon. Its the only hmg I really ever overheat with and if you consider each burst to be one round it essentially is a shotgun. |

Overheating is pretty easy to do with the burst. I have managed to control heat build up in it pretty well even when mowing down multiple opponents. The trick is that the burst really only needs 1 burst to kill most suits so planning the shots actually counts. I like to aim hi mid chest and the recoil often lands the last few rounds in the headshot area. This is great for polishing off the last few hitpoints of a suit. This also makes for great heat management. I mostly need to remember to reload more often with it. I cant tell you how many time i had to run because i was reloading. |

I went to level four in HMG operations just to test this thing out awhile back (before Charlie dropped) and while it was okay, I never really got to liking it. I'm rather hoping it will be more fun to use now and I'm looking forward to the test run once more.

The beloved "brrrt - dead" experience was true before the buff.
It increased in popularity simply because people saw the details of Charlie and decided to try it out.
Destiny won't kill Dust.
CCP already did that.

Too easy, too boring, too many people doing it....This heavy FOTM **** is pissing me off, I'm ashamed to be a sentinel since now all the scrubs looking for easy mode are using it. Prof 3 in hmg's wasting away lol.
If Preparation is half of the battle and knowing is the other half, Then there is no need to fight.

Prof 3 in hmg's wasting away lol. Yes the burst was always a force. Now however its truly a slayer weapon. having prof 5 doesnt hurt at all either :) One change i do not like is that it seems that nanohives don't carry nearly as much ammo as they used to. I have always chewed through hives but now it seems like all i have to do is look at one and the are exhausted.
I am not normally squad lead because i just dont like having to place orbitals and worry about squad commands but i was lead last night and i got a kick out of getting points for resupplying myself off the logi's nanohive that i put the defend order on. |

The annoying thing as one of the few who used it before charlie is that having finally (and without asking for it) having the burst interval decreased now too many people are using it and the community is already crying nerf.
the exact same thing is going to happen at delta too.
its not the weapon, it's the volume of people using it. |

I ran this on my lower SP heavy alt, and I agree it's a bit ridiculous. It does too many things well. It should either keep its crazy DPS and get a significant range nerf, or the DPS needs to come down (less damage or longer firing intervals). I'll let smarter people than me figure out how it should be balanced, but it needs more tweaks.
Best PvE idea ever!
