I am currently skilled into 3 assault suits...Amarr, Minmatar, and Caldari
Of the 3, I feel that none of them have a huge advantage over the other, with each suit having its own specialty and playstyle. With the higher slot counts I went for more diversity rather than raw HP.
For instance, my Amarr uses a complex precision enhancer and a complex profile dampener, while still maintaining 800 armor and 10 armor repair. On my Minmatar I use a damage mod and an energizer, while saving one of the lows for a sprint mod.
That said, diversity is everything. Before Charlie I only had one assault fitting per suit that was "the best", and now I have different strategies based on the types of enemies I'm facing. There's just so many ways to fit an assault now that I end up trying out a new way to play the suit every time I log in...this last one was a minmatar assault hack fit: 3 extenders, 2 codebreakers, and a reactive plate with uplinks (considering swapping the reactive for a profile damp). __________________________________________________________________________________
I will be making a quick fitting update video again for Charlie, but I'm still not even close to being finished trying out the new possibilities for suits.
I was never really much of an assault player, but these suits are finally much more enjoyable to use. Please explain the purpose of the precision module on the assault?

Why are the weapons so inadequate? Would you rush a point with a plasma cannon and an ion pistol for a sidearm? All to often do I find myself resorting to using other racial weapons on the suit which kills my bonus potential. Could we take another look for good measure CCP rattati? That weapon has been buffed 16 times, its fine, get good with it.

Many good players such as the OP of this thread and myself on occasion get 700 rpm with the scram with no modded controller. The problem is what many of you see as the human limit, it is much higher than you may think.

Try it out, it's my all around awesome assault that thrives in any map. I have more specialized fits for different maps, but this works everywhere. But you always suck, except if you hide. Talk to someone whos good rat, not this noob who plays the chats more than the game.
