You guys are just shooter game addicts. Doesn't look special to me. Especially since I heard it's not on PS4.
Jesus bloody Christ... I can't wait until Nintendo makes a comeback... The gaming world is being consumed by mindless shooters with dry stories and dry characters.

Don't even go there bro because I will smack your ***** ass back to where it came from.
Here's some rich character development for you:
- Zelda
- Metroid
- Pokemon
- Donkey Kong
- Kirby
- Fire Emblem
- Golden Sun (I need to play that... didn't know it was a nintendo franchise until just now)
- ******* Smash Bros.

Early 2000s for half of what's on that list, thank you very much. Most of them continue to churn out new stories, new characters.
And there's a hell of a lot coming from third party developers these days that are even better.

I'm just one of those "play one game to death, then play the next one to death" kind of people.
Oh by the way? Destiny does a LOT BETTER.

Story wise no..... but hell it looks pretty, plays well, and has most if not all of the core content.
that's because we don't know what the story is yet... derp...
when it is revealed, i'm pretty sure the novelty of the story is directly proportional to how different it is from Mass Effect... and Halo for that matter. i don't even know the halo story lol...

boy you can go **** yourself, for real, you have NO idea what you are talking about
i guaran ******* tee you most of the people who played Metroid Prime were teenagers and adults NOT kids, most of the people who played Donkey Kong Country Returns were ADULTS, and about half of the people who play Pokemon XY are young adults and teens, and adults have always loved Zelda
And I'm pretty sure hating on Kirby is a mortal sin. Yes the beginners levels look childish, but as you continue playing the difficulty gets increasingly difficult.

This right here disgusts me on so many levels I'm not even going to respond to it.
I should've known the Dust forum was not a place to discuss QUALITY GAMES.

Samus Aran is a God. That's her ******* character development.
Depending on whether or not you choose to scan down all the lore in the Prime series, it gives not only Samus a deep sense of character but YOU a sense of BEING her character.
The way she saved the entire Luminoth race in Echoes still sends chills down my spine. How the entire Galactic Federation was practically in awe at her presence, how she saved the entire ******* human race through sheer will.
In Metroid, the story is what makes Samus's character. You don't see her from a third person perspective, you ARE her.

Thang Bausch wrote:From what I hear, Last of Us is a good example of character development in video games. Fallout New Vegas had good Choose Your Own Adventure storyline. Nintendo does not compete with these, but it does consistently release really fun to play games that are very low on bugs, which is something to praise them for.
Yeah but the Last of Us detracted way too much from the zombie aspect and made itself look way too much like Batman Arkham Asylum. The nail in the coffin for me was not being able to go back and play earlier levels with the flamethrower and all the upgraded weapons. Real disappointment. I wish I could've tried the online co op but I was only renting it and you need a pass code.
They honestly could've included the story-related parts with humans and just added MORE ZOMBIE KILLING LEVELS in between. Like there was a huge opportunity in the Pittsburgh level for them to expand upon but they didn't.

Thang Bausch wrote: I only played the first 20% of the first Prime, so I never got far enough in the series to see that. Sounds cool though.
I'm not going to lie that it will make shooter oriented gamers cringe, though. Locking on targets makes it easy mode sometimes. Although I heard if you buy the Trilogy pack, they added the Wii remote aiming mechanic to the first 2 games which would greatly improve the FPS aspect.
In Metroid, it's more about dodging incoming damage and letting the Power Suit take care of telling you where to shoot.
We can blame the Japanese for this... most of them get motion sickness from playing FPS.

This is also worth a read. It's arguable that science fiction began with the cavemen paintings, in my opinion.
