Three months ago Izlare pulled some interesting Dust market data from Eve and received this response:
"CCP Rattati" wrote:I hope this didn't take an incredible amount of time because this is all pretty much auto-generated daily, including consumption, in our data warehouse.
I will and have made it a priority to share more data, if you noticed I have been seeding some of the data in the Feedback threads, for the first time I believe. CCP, can you please provide this market data, not in dribs and drabs in feedback threads, but in one readily accessible place. You already have the data to hand, it won't take you long to put it in a spreadsheet. I realize you have a lot of data, even something really simple like sales for the last 10 days for each proto suit and weapon would be really nice to have. I know you can do it! |

Why don't you check with Chribba?
We have a lot of API support for EVE, and since the market is shared, technically, I was under the assumption everyone could get this data, and just spoke to Foxfour and he says yes, it should be there.

This is very much doable, it calls for some CREST request though and also some digging into exactly what you wish to search for.
You need 1) The region ID of the market you wish to check 2) The TypeID of the item you wish to check.
For example https://public-crest.eveonline.com/market/10000043/types/351278/history/
This would give you the market data for Domain region and all Gunnlogi's sold up to a year back

Thanks for your reply. Maybe technically speaking we can get the data but the output is inaccessible in practice. For instance, ChribbaX's link looks like this:
Quote:{"totalCount_str": "414", "items": [{"volume_str": "95", "orderCount": 44, "lowPrice": 200000.0, "highPrice": 200000.0, "avgPrice": 200000.0, "volume": 95, "orderCount_str": "44", "date": "2013-07-01T00:00:00"}, {"volume_str": "39", "orderCount": 27, "lowPrice": 200000.0, "highPrice": 200000.0, "avgPrice": 200000.0, "volume": 39, "orderCount_str": "27", "date": "2013-07-02T00:00:00"}, {"volume_str": "87", "orderCount": 44, "lowPrice": 200000.0, "highPrice": 200000.0, "avgPrice": 200000.0, "volume": 87, "orderCount_str": "44", "date": "2013-07-03T00:00:00"}, {"volume_str": "129", "orderCount": 70, "lowPrice": 200000.0, "highPrice": 200000.0, "avgPrice": 200000.0, "volume": 129, "orderCount_str": "70", "date": "2013-07-04T00:00:00"}, {"volume_str": "201", "orderCount": 90, "lowPrice": 200000.0, "highPrice": 200000.0, "avgPrice": 200000.0, "volume": 201, "orderCount_str": "90", "date": "2013-07-05T00:00:00"}, {"volume_str": "105", "orderCount": 74, "lowPrice": 200000.0, "highPrice": 200000.0, "avgPrice": 200000.0, "volume": 105, "orderCount_str": "74", "date": "2013-07-06T00:00:00"} It goes on like that for 66,000 characters. And that's just sales for one tank type in one region. You have the tools to process the data to make it accessible, could you please just pull it and post a spreadsheet on the forum. As I said, something like total volumes in last ten days for all proto weapons and proto suits (in all regions - regions don't matter Dust-side) would be really useful. Ideally it would auto update once per day or so by pulling data from the server, but even a one off would be nice to have! |

Ryme, that is something that is generally left up to the community to develop. That's what CREST is, a data endpoint for third parties to take development past what CCP officially offers.

The crest api calls return standard JSON feeds. Its not intended to be human readable, but its quite machine readable if you wanted to build some software or a site.

Probably. They are going to have all the tools that are useful for eve and since its the same market i am betting they probably didnt have to do much to their tools to make them work well for dust. Meanwhile here in dust land we have primarily console players that probably are not as into web development stuff as the folks in eve are. |

Actually this info is very simple, you need a 3rd party developer to help, It's been a while but I might be able to try something.

There's actually quite a few great tools developed by DUST playing web developers. I even did some myself. But my coding comes out somewhat atrociously, and I don't have time right now to delve into a different CREST endpoint.

I would like to take this request a bit further (even though it may increase the difficutly of the task, but let's let CCP determine that):
Is there any way a version of this market activity/ spreadsheet could be inserted on the video monitor in our living quarters? Similar to what is done with the Marketplace promotions?
This would be just another way of cementing that awareness that "your actions are part of a larger Dust-to-EVE environment".

The 3rd party development activity for dust used to be pretty active. Since the fanfest travesty very few are interested in investing the time and effort into tool building.

Looking at the little documentation I could find, I see that you need to specify a REGION when calling the Crest API, anyone know what the region for DUST is? is it just one? several?
From my early experiments to condense this data I can see it's not really viable as it currently stands to request data from the API for each item for each region on each day, it's just too much, then without having a way to specify time periods it takes hours to get all the information to make it easily available to use in graphs and such.
