... is it perhaps you guys are sick of being OP scanning suits? Or don't want to spend the SP? What's the deal?
There sure were enough of them before this hotfix. Haven't even seen a proto Amarr scout yet, to be blunt about it.

People just haven't skilled into them yet. My friend has a proto AM scout and he just uses advance to take advantage of those scans. (2 highs at advance) It's not as powerful as the old Calscout (which is good for scout vs scout balance) but its still very helpful.

Because unless you sacrifice large amounts of maximum eHP the Amarr scout only really gets a spider sense. 20m is lower than the optimal ramge for almost EVERY weapon.
And unless you sacrifice large amounts of maximum eHP the Caldari Scout only really get a scan which will pick up heavies and unskilled mlt suits.
Not an 80m perma scan with enough inbuilt prescision to see all but the most dampened of scouts. And still have a completly maxed out primary tank as well.
You have to give a little to get a little and for FOTM players it's not worth the investment, especially not when you can longer achieve the same eHP as an Assault.

Well, few points :
1. They are not skilled yet 2. They are bad at this role, cal was 3x better 3. Dampening is better/easier to achive 4. Gallogi outperform amarr scout in terms of scanning. Caldari was almost as good as gallogi.

I'm honestly not sure what up with scouts that wanna run hp mods.
There are kincats, range amps, hacking mods, damps and cardiac regulators. There are a ton of great low slot mods for scouts, you don't need ehp.
The only thing I would understand is a basic reactive.

I have tried the Gal Assault gk.0, I dunno, maybe I just need to get used to the Assault playstyle, but it's not all that great. |

Except the gal scout has only the standard scanning prescsion and range of scouts. Which can be avoided by adding 1 PRO dampener, just. And only 20m of scan range.
So sure you can be invisible to EVERYTHING, but a FOTM doesn't benifit from that, because they only focus on eHP for 1v1 engagements

The amarr and minmitar assaults are better than any tanked on the market in my opinion.
However, scouts are still awesome in PC due to cloaks. My amarr assault just dominates all scouts.

Because they never wanted to play a scout like a scout, they wanted to play them like assaults, but now assaults are buffed to do their jobs properly people are moving back to them.

Idk really I have lvl 5 in both Amarr scout and assault but since the change I've switch all my scout fits to pure ewar and now I'm just upset that it's "viable" for lack of a better explanation. Maybe I just need to play around with it to find that perfect fit like I did when it first came out :c

I agree with this too but the Caldari are all about range on all of their weapons. The railgun, sniper rifle, mag sec (the longest range sidearm). It makes sense race wise that they would keep the range bonus. |

You dont need scans. If needed gal can eqiup 1 range. As gal you can eqiup 2damps, 2kincats (or 1+rep) and shields. Cal will have only little more hp, but will be slow. Scout without kincats moves like snail.
Scouts arent fotm or whatever you call it.

Progression on Range Amplifiers for Gallente/Amarr is as such:
base: 20m Static skill bonus: 30m Range Amp 1: 43.5 Range Amp 2: 60.5m Range Amp 3: 76m Range Amp 4: 85m
Basically, if you want to be a little do-nothing wall hacker for your team you can take an amarr scout and run 2 complex precision enhancers, 2 complex range amplifiers, 2 complex profile dampeners, and an Ishukone Cloak. You can just sit there inside the city and scan the majority of scouts when they aren't cloaked and some even when they are.
Or you can be a little more combative and rock 2 precision mods, 1 range amp, some plates and use a weapon to hunt down flankers/lone wolf/etc.
But if a scout gets scanned they usually just put more dampeners on. So once they don't want to be found they aren't going to be. So you're better off with a Cal Scout with 4 shield extenders, a range amp, and an armor plate picking up all the medium and heavy frames which there are now a lot of.
Now here's the really hard part that people just think is so unfair. The best counter to scouts. . . is visual awareness. But people need their crutch. They get so upset that people are allowed to sneak up on them. Make a habit of checking your back side. Try running a few matches without active scanners or scouts in your squad. You learn fast when there's nothing to lean back on after you get knifed in the back or blapped from behind by a medium frame using a shotgun -because you can't blame "cloaked scout" when I pop out of nowhere using a Gal-Assault

been having to much fun with the assault to even care about my scout, i will be using it, just on the more open maps. i dont like using a non bonused scrambler in cqc and the carthum is just to noisy

A few theories:
1. People are using assaults, not scouts.
2. Because there are lots of assaults now (as well as the usual heavies and logis) precision on a scout is a waste.
3. [Most cynical theory] Since Fanfest, vets haven't been buying capping every week or buying boosters, so there isn't as much SP sloshing around to immediately proto the new FOTM. |

So people who should've been running 2 precisions and 2 range amps on the Caldari are now too big of pansies to attempt it on Amarr, which essentially grants them THE SAME THING WITH SLIGHTLY LESS RANGE.
It's just like someone else said. When people notice you scanning them and switch to their damps, you'll still have an advantage because you're forcing them to compensate. Then when you die you can run your biotics or HP.
I still see it as a HIGHLY VIABLE scout now. By the way you guys are wrong, Amarr can scan other Amarr and the Minmatar if they have 2 damps. But yeah Gallente will have to switch between precision and other fits often...

Exactly. Basically, scouts are more balanced now and it's not worth the 3 million SP to get a suit that is on par with the rest. |

The thing is a Scout suit is very good at eWAR as it should be. It excels at stealth, assassination and agility as it should be.
But no matter how good you are at all this, if your caught out the open, with nowhere to escape to, your as good as dead And that is why Scouts are balanced!

cals and gals need 2 because of bonuses. min and am need 3. so all races but minmatar can get under a full precision amarr in a advance suit.
