I really enjoy being a logi and i was wondering if a higher reptool is worth it. It seems like i get points for the length i am healing someone for but if that is true and i wanted more wp isn't it better to use a low grade rep tool? If my goal is to actually just keep the heavy alive as long as possible i'd obviously want a better tool but for farming wp would a slower healing rep tool yield more points? Or will a higher rep tool give more wp? |

You get warpoints for repairing a target of any damage that they've taken in the last 1m. It's based off of amount repaired and that means that technically all rep tools will give the same amount of wp just for touching someone up, but better repair tools will give wp *faster* and allow you to repair two targets at once.

The higher ones also can rep two targets so twice the reward. And means that at least one of them can be active (Guardian points) whilst the other ducks and covers.
I'd suggest keeping your nano skill at the same level as dropping hives and having decent injectors rounds out the medic logi.

Thank you both for your answers and just 1 more question. Wouldn't it technically be better to use the crappiest needle possible so i could heal for more wp after i revive them?......Sounds horrible i know but if i'm not in a squad i just want the most wp possible. |

Mouse, there may be something to that logic but what happens more often is you stab the downed clone with a militia grade injector (30% armor) and the guy that dropped him a moment ago for 50wp drills another 3 rounds into his newly awakened body and re-drops him for 50 more.
In the heat of the fire fight there are plenty of rounds in the air to justify the best needle and rep tool isk can buy. Don't skimp, just pimp.

Yeah, there is a perverse incentive to use the lower tier needles, but the drawback is that your target is more likely to die. 75 triage points you actually get is better than 150 that you might but probably won't because the guy's dead again.

Technically you are correct, but do realize people are not waiting for a 'dirty needle' revive. You'll be antagonizing a lot of people and reducing their game experience. If heard people rage (over comms) when they got revived and killed, revived and killed, revived and killed... You get the picture.
Perposefully using a low grade needle to get extra triage points, to me, is a scrub tactic. Please do not abuse this tactic.

A few notes about being a medic...
1. Minmitar logis make the best medics. They get a 5%/level bonus to the amount that is repped as well as a 10%/level bonus to the repair tool range.
2. Prototype reppers are definitely worth it for the following reasons. - They allow you to support your heavy while they go toe to toe with other heavies or multiple opponents. In an engagement that lasts 3 seconds (assuming you are a proto min logi with a core focussed repair tool) you will give your heavy an extra 468.75 armor points. - They return your allies to max armor points much quicker. - Some of the prototype reppers offer a great range.
Repair tools
2. Tips about teaming up with a heavy. - Equip your dropsuit for support first and survival second. You'll be repping more than firing your weapon. You can stack armor as you only need to be mobile enough to keep up with your heavy. - Keep the repair tool on them at all times while they are engaged in a fire fight (kind of goes without saying). - When they are under fire, let them know if you stop repping them to do something else. - Your job is to keep an eye on your backs, check your six often. - Stay behind cover. If you are running with a heavy who is oblivious to your need for cover, try using a longer range repair tool or find another heavy. - When crossing wide open areas together, use the meat shield technique (keep the repair tool on the heavy and keep him between you and the incoming fire). - If you are supporting only one heavy use the core focus repair tool. If you are supporting multiple heavies use either the boundless (you'll need loyalty points for this) or the six kin. - If you are running 2 logis and one heavy, I found the following works well... One logi uses the core focussed and stays close to the heavy, the other uses the six kin and reps both the logi and the heavy while hanging a bit further back. - While the heavy is reloading (this takes for ever), you should stop repping and lay down supressing fire to prevent being rushed by opponents.
3. Tips for running a solo medic. - Equip your dropsuit for survival first and support second as you'll be firing your weapon more than repping. I prefer equiping my logi for speed when running solo (see ferroscale plates). - Prototype repair tools are not necessary. I run the BDR2 when running solo as it costs less and is easier to equip without having to give up shields and armor. - Look for opportunities to support the team, but don't expect them to help you with positioning. - Typically when running solo, I participate in the fire fight and rep during down times (as opposed to repping all the time and only firing when the heavy is re-loading as stated above in the teaming up advice). - If you find a good heavy, stick with him. Learn to spot crappy/reckless heavies and don't follow them, a quick top up with the repair tool and off you go. - Try flanking and performing other light assault functions. Keep in mind that you are still squichy so use stealth rather than the direct approach.
How do you kill that which has no life?

Get it to 5. If you want to be a relly good logi this is a start. Level 5 opens up to 3 useful Rep tools. Standard Core isn't worth looking at. Only use it for cheaper fits. But Six Kin triage is very good for keeping people alive in a room. For example the Gallene reaserch facility. Core Focused is used for making money of Gal and Am sentinels. But i think six Kin is better due to range and dual beam reppers. Lai Dai flux imo is used for open maps where logi heavy spider tank is viable. Like Manus Peak

^ Truth.
FPS = First Person Support. Kills win battles but it's kinda hard to kill if you're dead and out of ammo.
