It appears I was wrong. I'll pause so you can get the pointing and laughing out of your system.
Commando evaluation:
Far from being marginalized and useless by the buffs to assaults, the Commando seems to have evened out as a decent counterpart platform alternative for heavies who dont want to spec into assault. It doesn't have the insane hit point buffer that the sentinel counterparts and the weapon versatility is nice.
The only thing i find overwhelming in play is getting caught alone by multiple opponents.
As it should be.
In any case my compliments to CCP on the buffs to assaults, I have no complaints about the performance of the commando suit in comparison to the assault, they seem well-matched and competitive with each other. I have found a use for all four commandos thus far, and shockingly enough enjoy playing them as much as I enjoy a good sentinel smash.
Sentinel:
I was right here. The changes in the sentinel did not alter my efficacy except to force me to downgrade my sidearms from SMGs to the resource-cheap flaylock with one exception.
CCP the Caldari sentinel's fitting options are more limited than the other suits and could use a raise. Not by a whole lot, but the other sentinels (At the prototype level) have the option of fitting a proto weapon, full highs, full lows and at least a basic sidearm and grenade. When you fit the caldari sentinel with a Forge Gun (Ostensibly the Caldari Sentinel weapon) of a type matching the suit tier you're being forced to make harder choices than the other suits.
I myself always fit my armor with PC and CPU economy in mind, but the Caldari Sentinel may need another pass. I would suggest looking at it with an eye towards a VERY slight increase. I will let the math nerds figure out how to do the setup so your fits are equivalent to the other Sentinels because I'm not OCD enough today and I need to spend some time in EVE parading around in my autism chariot, collecting bounties from rats. |

Addendum:
I have overheated my standard tier HMGs four times today learning the new tolerances.
I have overheated a burst HMG eight times because I never used the damn things before.
I'm finding the burst to be a situational, and ill-suited to the type of mass brawls I tend to engage in like a heavy-armored lemming. |

I figured that out man. This was more to point out that the changes CCP made to the HMG seem to be working as intended in my estimation than to worry about doing it right. |
