Soraya Xel wrote:Basically, it's not in anyone's best interests, certainly not CCP's, to encourage spread of negative emotion over their social space, particularly since they are a business, and probably want people positively discussion their products where possible. Some quotes for you:
Baldwin, who has worked on many of Facebook's most popular features, spoke candidly when asked about the possibility of a "dislike" button in a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" discussion on Tuesday. Actions on Facebook tend to focus on positive social interactions. Like is the lightest-weight way to express positive sentiment. I don't think adding a light-weight way to express negative sentiment would be that valuable. I know there are times when it'd make sense, like when a friend is having a rough day, or got into a car accident like my sister yesterday (she's okay!). For these times, a nice comment from a friend goes a long way.http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/03/facebook-dislike-button-bob-baldwin_n_3006997.htmlAccording to a paper recently published in PNAS, the social network used software to identify positive and negative words in status updates and to segregate posts into the two categories. Facebook then massaged the subjects' News Feeds to show mostly positive or negative posts. In the end, the company's researchers proved that emotions can be contagious even without direct contact on social networks, and even if you're only reading words on a screen. By the end of the experiment, those who'd been subjected to positive status updates posted happy ones of their own, and vice versa. http://www.engadget.com/2014/06/28/facebook-experiment-emotions/

My opinion is that people are too sensitive and can't handle banter, in fact its good for you to banter, I could go into psychology and chemistry to back it but I CBA, its as important as hobbies.

Dear TechMechMeds, you can call me "meckie". I am Michael Epic's girlfriend and I am a psychology major at Austin Peay State University. You cite psychology as a good cause for banter but you are incorrect. Banter is a good-humored exchange of remarks. However, no one you would be "disliking" would be exchanging similar banter with you. They would be making a point and you would take your obviously ambiguous understanding of the word banter too far. Your comments Michael has put into this thread, responding to him as a "sensitive little cup cake" are hatemongering. This practice shows your immaturity and ignorance. The psychology behind that is you feeling inadequate and not measuring up to something in your life. You might have a father issue, you might have a significant other issue or you might have a personal issue. An issue we could all agree on, except you because you will react defensively is that you choose to frequent an anonymous internet forum connected to a violent first person shooter game. You choose to make inflammatory comments to the other users just because they disagree with your point of view. That is very childish and exhibits the somatic markers to a sociopath. Perhaps you should see a counselor or talk to a family member or loved one and work out these issues. It will improve your morale and positivity and perhaps have a positive impact on your life in a way that makes you not feel so small you have to hatemonger on a message board. Bless you.
Those were some very well written assumptions, bless you.
You don't actually frequent the forums to see how people mess about, maybe you should go back to school?.

No she didn't, she doesn't play the game, doesn't know anyone here and we have all been playing together for about two years now so it is not some random anonymous forum.
She has no idea what she's talking about at all and must have gone to a proper epic fail university to assume so much crap based off nothing.

Also it goes to show your weak mind if you think I'd just simply hurl insults.

No I didn't get my arse handed to me, that's impossible coming from someone who doesn't even play the game and has never interacted with me at all.
Its also pretty pathetic how you had to get someone who doesn't even play the game to defend you and you have the nerve to talk big?.

People who have gone/still go to uni for the most part would not assume such a huge amount of crap based off a game forum, especially students apparently studying psychology.
Let me assume so crap as well.

I'm loling as well, good luck at uni because you are clearly going to need it. In fact the amount of assumptions you have spewed leads me to believe you are talking pure crap through and through. You know what the difference between you and me is? You have to attack me to make your points. I don't have to attack you to make mine. You are grasping at straws, struggling as hard as you can to make ends meet and argue with me. Where as I just get to sit back, toss my feet up on the dash and stick this sucker on cruise control. See let me tell ya...please lend me your ear man to man. Meckie owed the 'ol stepfather $20.50 for getting a Hooters outfit. You see...she's very pretty. She's knock you on your ass pretty and she's looking to be employed at Hooters while getting her degree in psychology by Christmas. That means for me, bling bling chicken wings and banging a Hooters girl. She was standing behind me while I was reading your replies and she saw where you cited psychology and she said baby, can I reply to him? I was like yes ma'am, step right on up. Not only does she and has she played Dust before but she plays Gears of War, Borderlands, Call of Duty, Mass Effect and Warface with me via her xbox 360 which has a custom made skin of her and I on it done by a vector cartoon artist I employ from time to time. So she has all full rights to slice and dice you, action jackson. She's gone now so she can't respond...all that's left is me to do the talking and unfortunately I don't know all that psychology stuff ahaha but I still stick with the fact that she owned you. No matter how many posts you make saying she didn't...when you can't refute she did and your only refute is that she doesn't play when she does...oh hahaha oh man, that's all you got jack? I wish you could be on my level....you'd be happier. Big smile on your face. *squeezes your cheekies* ;)
You admitted that you know nothing.
So you assume she owned me, she doesn't know me and using a game forum to evaluate someone's psyche in an environment where we kill, scam and troll each other will lead to false conclusions, based on nothing.
You appear to be complete fail seriously, you ooze with pseudo intellectual tripe, nothing more.
One day, you might understand that your type at worth nothing but insults where debate is concerned, especially if all you can bring are ASSUMPTIONS.....

I'm a smuck lol legit, some scrub ass guy and she's a beauty queen but it won't be too much longer and she'll have a 1.5 carat soliatire white gold engagement ring on that finger haha beyonce said if you like it put a ring on it and sir, I love it and I'm putting a ring on it. Yeah none at all, just another pointless forum argument that I wish I could have taken back and composed myself in a much more civilised manner, I drink way too much tea, too much caffeine.
That's quality, my gf is the same as well, really cool but her choice in games is more sim city type stuff (what I'd consider pointless crap but hey).
Anyway, I was about to go on and on about her right there, too much caffeine.
You seem like a cool guy actually, which furthers my point that a wall of text is never a good way to evaluate a persons psyche.
