There is an issue which has been on going for a very long time now, an issue having to do with strafing. Whenever you strafe in this game there is no loss in momentum, meaning when you change speeds you always stay at top speed.
If you were to move left in real life and then quickly change speeds you will stop quickly slow down stop and speed up, all this happens very fast but it does happens. Now if you do this process to fast what happens? You trip or twist your ankle or something painful because that energy you are using must go somewhere.
In Dust this is an issue because it allows people to become invisible while strafing, if you master it you can literally dodge bullets in this game.
So CCP please fix this for Delta.

It's easier to abuse with a kbm but it's not so hard with the controller all you have to do is roll the stick in an upward or downward arch, even without doing so the loss in speed is tiny because it is dictated by your thumb not physics tied to the character you are controlling.

TL;DR instead of straifing back and forward they will just go one direction instead and scouts will get close and be faster then your turn speed that is.. if they dont gib you in 1 to 2 shots
True but this scenario is much more realistic (although in a Gun fight I doubt anybody would do this you don't get to re spawn in life) This person is much more easier to track and dispatch than somebody right in your face going all matrix on you.

Your exosuit can compensate for these changes. Leave the strafing alone. If anything, change backpedal speed so it is easier to knife people, but that is it
Idk if it's fun for others dealing with somebody that's impossible to shoot, maybe for you but hey by all means keep it, I tun a Gallente shotgun scout. But with the bad controls, slow turning speeds, and terrible hit detection this system allows people who abuse it to be extremely difficult to kill. And it has nothing to do with your exo suit your exo suit does not void basic laws of physics. And there is no possible way it can compensate for this unless you are not touching the ground or something and last time I checked jet packs don't exist. Even differences in gravity have no change in this, low gravity and high gravity make it harder for you to move.

So what, people should stay in place when you shoot? Just spray and pray i you have to.
No of course not people should be able to get out of harms way, but you shouldn't look like your having an epileptic seizure while shooting a gun. But instead of standing in an area dodging bullets like your in the matrix it should be more about using your speed to move from cover to cover quickly and effectively, to dominate your enemy by rushing in and hitting hard. And strafing will still exist but it will exist in a realistic form where you don't become invulnerable by doing so.

Breakin Stuff wrote:Gun game being "good" is a matter of pure opinion and is an idiot metric.
Bluntly if you tried to use what you call "gungame" IRL you'd be more likely to kill yourself than win any fights. This figure 8 strafing is the dumbest thing shooters have in them. It really breaks the immersion.
Just to add this type of game play is from the very old arena shooters from the 90s-00s since then most if not all fps have removed this completely.
Also when people say gungame to refer as a counter for strafing they meaning waving your gun around until you hit something, but gungame just sounds better
