No, it wasn't. It was initially proposed, and then after lengthy discussion, it was decided to NOT remove it, an in fact the idea to give the Caldari Logi a sidearm as well and let the Amarr Logi keep its sidearm was forefront to the conversation. So not only did you refuse to actually log into the game and confirm it yourself, you're also clearly not following the discussions on the forums closely enough to stay up to date on the current state of affairs.

But really, cry more, wrap that tinfoil around your head as tight as you can, lest the reason seep in.

ccp are good at making bad choices, its still on the table and even if its not changed in dust it can easily done for legion so either way i lose out and giving it to the caldari while not chanign anythng on that suit is still a bad idea so you end up making a suit better than the amarr without sacrficing anything

Are you really going to get upset over a change that might happen, sometime in the future, in a different game? Well idea is that the Caldari and Amarr get 3 equip and a sidearm, the Min and Gal get 4 equip and no sidearm. Its my understanding is that the plan is to normalize the Logi slot layout to match that of the Assault, bringing the Cal Logi from 5/4 to 5/3. And no, I would never work for a game company, I enjoy my current job too much.

And you're right, they can do whatever they please. Better to learn to deal with changes now, because it's impossible to make everyone happy, so every change is gonna **** someone off and make someone else happy. Also if you look at the slot layouts as they are now, almost all of the Assaults have identical slots to the Logis, so I'm not really sure what you're getting at.
