Railguns are an actual known technology. It's not quite like how this game depicts it, but overall nearly the same.

Lol, quite old yes.
still though interesting to see.
also to see some of the technicalities involved. a 55,000 panel solar farm produces roughly 11.5MA (over here it'd be more in hotter places) the amount of current is incredible.
also interesting to see that a projectile traveling at an extra 500 m/s than these sniper rifles here could "easily penetrate a tank"
any body else see future heavy weapons potential?
i think it's safe to assume that a sniper rail rifle will not leave much of a persons head behind.
(looking here it would be like getting hit by a bullet sized, pointed mass with the energy of a bus travelling at over 300 mph)
not to mention that they would also be pin point accurate and yes at 600m they would be hit scan in real ife, and it would also not suffer with wind effects at these ranges either.
so what do you know folks.. all those people who keep saying they want ballistics here..
how wrong you were.
they are the real ballistics, except for the damage being far too low and that clones can be revived following headshots.

Railguns are cool and all, but I'm more excited about Lasers.
Besides being mathematically more awesome due to the pewpew algorithm, lasers ARE FASTER THAN hitscan, have no recoil or innacuracy of any kind, and would be perfectly silent (the target area would be loud, but who cares?).
They would also have much cheaper ammunition, more versatility("set phasers for stun"), and be incredibly easy to train soldiers how to use them.
In an earthlike atmosphere, their kill range could extend beyond the horizon if the curvature of the earth didn't get in the way first.
In space, their kill range would be measured by millions of kilometers. |
