I realized that Militia Weapons have the exact same amount of damage, why is this ? I say militia gear shouldn't be the same as the basic variants, probably because I went 21 and 3 using the Militia Combat Rifle, and I was up against some decent people.

Militia are sucky Basic/STD variant but cheaper.
They cost more CPU-PG , or overheat faster, or have less bullets , etc...
But they are overall a Basic variant.
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

Militia weaponry has lower magazine capacity and higher heat build up, they aren't the same.

They are the same concerning damage, I'm saying there should be at least a 3 or 4 Hit point difference from the basic variant.

I disagree: MLT doesnt mean they are crap.It means they are cheap and have no need for skills.
Not necessary. The basic variants are already the lowest of ALL variants.
Mlt WEapons are balanced:
MLT WEAPON:
Basic level Damage
Less Clip ammo
Overheat mechanics and other penalties (like recoil) increased
MLT level price
No skills needed
Basic Level WEAPON:
Basic Level Damage
More clip ammo
Normal Penalties
Basic Level price ( not MLT level but still pretty low)
Skills needed, but at the same time they enhance the weapon further
If im not mistaken (i might be): MLT weapons work the same as MLT Dropsuits.
This means that a MLT AR will NOT have the same damage,reload speed,ammo capacity and dispersion than a Basic AR on a High level player that has maxed AR skills.
This means at higher level a MLT variant is a VERY cheap weapon that does not benefit from bonuses.
Again, i havnt used MLT weapon in ages i might be incorrect about this last part.
The best Damage mod is a HEADSHOT....

The new player experience in DUST is nothing short of cataclysmically bad. Neutering the militia gear (which is the only thing a newberry can likely afford) turns them utterly into useless little warpoint pinatas that cannot compete at ANY level.
This is not good for DUST, and if legion goes live then there needs tio be a way for new players to be more than random noise. |

Damage isn't everything. Slower reload, typically lower magazine/reserve ammo, higher fitting costs....just because a weapon does the same damage, doesn't mean that it's as good as its Standard counterpart. Besides, I run Standard/Militia gear 100% of the time and do quite well, even against ADV and PRO geared opponents. Damage helps, but it's not everything. |
