I have read here on the forums that some people in this game have unlimited isk. I think what that means is that they can run full prototype gear endlessly without becoming poor. How did they do this? Is it still possible? I am well aware that one can run militia/standard/blueprint gear for a very long time in order to gain some isk. Is there a more efficent way? |

So you really mean you have no money to run your proto suits every match? Why not invest in leveling scanner to proto. If you play it smart with proto scanner equipped you should be dying 80% less, maybe dying once or twice a match and helping your squad along the way. Without a player market there are next to zero ways to compete with the PC corps who farmed isk so don't worry about them |

a large number of these people are from corporations that locked their PC districts, and proceeded to farm effortless isk that no work was put into generating
they just sat there and printed isk

not everyone has expendable cash to waste on this bad game.
That being said, he is correct.
Aurum suits are a way to raise your ISK counts.

If you need isks, play with std/adv gear to afford proto in future.
Theres few things how people got high isks :
1. Locking discricts was common situation. They generated bilion of isks every day. 2. People were playing with BPO,std, adv gear. Also in squad you die less. Profit. 3. And lastly. If you are good, you profit in longer termins.
I mean. If ill lose 3m on one pub match, i ll get it back sooner or later running full proto as always. Cus once you loose 1m every match, and next day you get 500k in games without loosing single isk.

Spam drop uplinks at the beginning of the match, play cheap suits and go for massive WP with kills and hacks.

A long long time ago CCP decided to drastically limit salvaged items to protect the market [for a player market that is never going to come?], only for people to make use of bad game design of Planetary Conquest to earn all those ISKies.
Anyway, don't focus on all those players with a crazy amount of ISK, you'll probably need less than you think. |

I make pretty good isk in nearly any match. I run standard or militia suits with standard militia and sometimes advanced gear / weapons. Sometimes i am a big spender and i call out a militia tank. Militia tanks can be very profitable if you have a squad with a scanner so you can have someone spot the other tanks for you and ambush them.
I forgot to mention. Spend your sp on core skills first like armor and shields. Then every suit you wear is that much better. Then pg and cpu so even in the cheap suits you can fit better gear. |

You clueless fool.. You get NO ISKIES for spawns! Im the KING of drop uplinks! Players do however get iskies for shooting out links. REAL money comes from killing tanks/proto suits. I have gotten 6000wp and only 300k isk. Being #1 just gets you a bigger peice of pie. The pie being what other team has lost in battle. You have been schooled! |

Those suits don't have a repair rate. Unsustainable, therefore minus profit.
I don't get why people always stack as much armor as they can with no concern for sustainability. Not everyone is surrounded by repair tools 24/7.

Primary ways people made bank:
1. Game used to have ludicrous payouts but that all got nerfed, however the isk remained.
2. PC used to generate clones daily for defense with a cap of (of 400 clones I think?) You could sell clones to the game for isk which generated ******** levels of isk if you had several districts. Combine that with the ability to limit opportunities of attack and having fake battles to exploit this (District Locking) and big name corps printed isk for months. This can't be done anymore as, better late than never I guess... CCP removed the clone sales in favor of bigger win payouts on isk.
3. You can make several alt accounts and cycle terminating clones daily and getting the free 500k isk. I would think this may be against TOS? Though I'm not sure as CCP generally likes to high five exploiters in their games. So use this at your own risk. CCP could fix it by removing that free 500k isk that only serves to have new players waste isk immediately on buying skills before they know what they're doing but eh. One match in battle academy in frontline suits and they would have plenty of isk to make militia fits and a few more matches and they can have a better idea on what to put points into.
4. Farm ambush. It is the fastest match game mode for earning isk in pubs. If you are worried about stats then just farm ambush on an alt and send the isk to your main.
5. Go isk positive in matches. Even a bad player can go isk positive in most matches as long as they don't reach down into their wallet more than they can handle. This is probably the way CCP intended the game to be played with their lack of matchmaking but the above 4 methods made this point moot and allowed proto spam to continue until the game is eventually closed. |

How did they do this? Is it still possible? I am well aware that one can run militia/standard/blueprint gear for a very long time in order to gain some isk. Is there a more efficent way? Start with your adv fits, after you get better you can run proto with adv weapons, this is about 100,000 isk fit, so if you do well and die twice you still make isk. Eventually you may be good enough to run full proto at around 150 to 170k isk fits. More than 1 death usually means you lose isk.
The above is what I do. Lots of people afk, farm alts, farm pc, or create bogus corps with stupid taxes to farm noobs. All of these are legit strategies. I think most people in Dust simply do not worry about proto. They run cheaper suits and build isk.
