So how far has this game gone down the shitter in the past couple of months? Deleted the client and have not played in months and decided to check what is going on. Is the game dead yet? |

assaults are getting buffed in the next patch in a big way. Heavies are getting a slight nerf. All in all the game is more fun than it was a few months ago, especially with all of the suits in play |

Server stats say that its been steady with a slight increase in population actually.
Iv not noticed any lack of players either.
Every hotfix is actually boosting the population because the game is getting more fun.
Planet side 2 for pc
Ghost recon phantoms for pc
Total war:Rome 2 for pc
Warframe for ps4
Battlefield 4 for ps4
Final fantasy a neckbeard reborn < awful for ps4
Destiny if I wanted but I think its pure rubbish. Never
I have all those, still playing dust.

The game is in a bad way. You got some fanatical loyalists that are playing necromancer with it.
So is Dust dead? No. Is it undead? Yes.
I'm one of the part-time necromancers. But Dust itself is a lost cause so long as it's on ps3. I only stick around so that CCP knows they have people that are excited about Legion. If everyone up and left, what would happen to it?
This undead game, will do our bidding until it is resurrected in a superior form.

How are the Commando Suits and Scouts faring? I have two characters I used heavily. Amarr Commando with Laz0r and ScR and a Gallente Scout with Shotgun/SMG. |

commandos are doing well, though with the assault buff, you're going to find it harder to compete. So take your time to relearn the meta.
Scouts are overpowered because assaults are currently in the toilet. They remain the primary hard counter for heavies that isn't a remote explosive or another heavy. With the assault buff a lot of scouts are screaming because they are one of the two big flavors of the month, and assaults are no longer going to be easy meat. Whether scouts will remain OP after the assault buff slaps them is up in the air.
Commandos are going to be... Yeah. I have no idea. I have to play mine after the patch to discuss viability there. I think they will need a buff to remain competitive in Delta, but no idea what that should be until I test run a few of them. I could be horribly wrong.
Heavies are getting CPU/PG nerf to make it harder to protofit a sentinel with assault rifles and play fatssault. I'm actually rather cool with this. The only light weapon sentinel I have I use exclusively to kill snipers in redlines and other unreachable locations. |

Tactics are way down. People don't even check/clear hack points anymore, RE's are feasting on 'em. Inexperienced Snipers don't move and will go right back to where they were killed. New Heavies don't know how to use cover.

It's becoming more popular since many of the beta vets quit. It turns out matchmaking really was a big deal, because as the playing field has become more level the amount of players has increased.
I'd say though don't return if you're going to proto stomp pubbies, that is just going to push it further into the shitter.
It's not rocket science or brain surgery that new players don't want to die constantly to players who are superior to them stat wise (This is the only lobby fps I have ever seen actually allow such a disparity) and this I maintain, since the game has gotten more popular with new players, is the primary reason this game failed to meet CCP's market expectations and got the plug pulled. They catered too hard to a small pool of players that got in at the ground floor and the game suffered for it.
I hope if they do release legion that they learn from this experience, but I've never seen an interview or even blue tag where CCP acknowledges that skill disparity ruined NPE so I doubt legion will do better unless it has true matchmaking and/or PvE. |
