i think the Nanohive and Compact Nanohive need a rebalance/buff/change because as they are now no one uses the compact nanohive really (from a logi perspective) and the gap in SP from L2 to L4(next nanohive with armor reps) is just stupidly large, so i feel we need to change them around a little.
Nanohive (Nanocircuitry 1) 4m effective range max active 1 max carried 2 max nanite clusters 36 10% resupply rate n/a armor repair
Proposed Nanohive (Nanocircuitry L1) 4m effective range max active 1 max carried 2 max nanite clusters 36 20% resupply rate n/a armor repair only change is supply rate.
Current Compact Nanohive (Nanocircuitry L2) 2m effective range max active 1 max carried 1 max nanite clusters 25 25%resupply rate 50hp/s armor repair
Proposed Compact Nanohive (Nanocircuitry L2) 4m effective range max active 1 max carried 2 max nanite clusters 36 10%resupply rate 25hp/s armor repair more carried, more range, lower supply rate, lower armor repair per second.
i believe these changes could be in keeping with the L3 nanohive and L4 armor repairing nanohive and will also be a nice little helping hand for Cal-Logi and other lower skilled Future Logibro's.
would appreciate feedback.. especially from CCP Rattati and CCP logibro. but player feedback would help too :)

Personally I like the compact nanohive. It restocks quickly, and gives good armor rep for a low fitting. It's a great personal use nanohive. The main problem is that you only carry one of them. I like the idea of advanced and proto versions where instead of carrying hives with better stats, you just carry multiple compact nanohives with the same stats. 2 at advanced, 3 at proto (though you can only deploy 1 at a time). Current high-level nanohives are great for logis, but overkill for personal use. I'd like to be able to have a hive that us easy to fit, get's me back on my feet quickly, and I can deploy more than one of. Alloteks are too fitting intensive, and the K17/D Nanoive (R) takes forever to resupply. Fine for multiple people, but not worth it for the healing and full restock as long pauses in combat are rare.
I'd love to fit such a hive on my commando fits for a quick recharge between engagements. Not bad for snipers either. Seems like it's be a great fit for sniper, or AV suits that need to squeeze hives on a suit.

my assaults always at the very least carry a compact. Quick and easy resupply. No fuss.
Only use K-2's when using a mass driver / my logi for team support (though I always end up offering the compact to a hurt teammate )

I use a compact on my Amarr commando, just so i can repair quickly in a tight situation.

compacts are great and maybe a bit too good for their fitting cost
but low fitting is really the point they are meant for quick recharges so you can restock ammo on the fly as well giving shield user a way to rep their armor if **** goes **** up on them
i always try to fit one on every suit i can people use the all the time the are for personal use not logi work logis have the fitting bonus so they can make use of those higher tier hives
however i do like the idea of have high tier versions of the compact however i think the standard compact is perfectly fine and any buff to it may put it in OP territory

deal with it

Tested nanohives just now...(good thing I don't have ammo skills in ARs)
30 AR rounds = 1 cluster
STD nanohive gives 10% ammo capacity per cycle...i.e. 30 rounds STD nanohive has 36 clusters, Nanohive broke after 36 cycles. Therefore STD nanohive used 1 cluster per cycle for a total of 36x30 rounds or 1080 ammo total
Compact nanohive gives 25% ammo capacity per cycle...i.e. 75 rounds Compact nanohive has 25 clusters, nanohive broke after 13 cycles Therefore compact nanohive used 2 clusters per cycle for a total of 13x75 rounds or 975 rounds total
If the compact nanohive had 36 clusters, that would be 18 cycles, and it would give a total of 1350 rounds. If it gave 20% per cycle it would only give as much ammo per nanohive as the std one.
BUT, because it gives an extra 15 rounds every two cycles it technically gives more ammo per cluster. And what about other nanohives? Here's where things get interesting.
The K-2 has a resupply rate of 15%. That means you get 15 extra rounds for EVERY cycle. With 48 clusters that means it gets 48 cycles...multiplied by 45 rounds per cycle and you get 2160 rounds. If we only gave it 36 clusters though, that's 36x45 or 1620.
However, the Ishukone nanohive has a resupply of 30%. Now at first I thought that by it giving 90 rounds per cycle that would be 3 clusters per cycle, but it only uses up 2 clusters per cycle. This is where things don't make any sense but whatever. It's basically the same concept as the K-2s where you get 60 rounds for 2 clusters, but then the extra 30 rounds are given to you without having to use a cluster.
The reason why it doesn't make any sense is that it still costs 1 cluster for 30-59 rounds on te ishukone. It won't cost you two clusters until you actually use up 60+ rounds, but then above that it doesn't cost more. If there was a nanohive tha gave 40% I'd be able to prove this more easily, but the LP store one only goes up to 35%.
Maybe if I tried cal logi + LP store nanohive...but that's for another time.

I-Shayz-I wrote:Compact nannohive is almost TOO good for the fitting reqs thats the thing.. a little nerf here.. a little tweek there and itll be good /balanced.
shayz you also need to remember/realize people nade spam alot and that can make an armor repper hive pop in no time.. thats why lower % while more carried and more clusters would work.. as i feel that the K-17(R)(level 4 armor repping hive) on caldari logi is perfect for bulwark meatgrinders like "the bridge"
cal logi is 10% clusters and 5% reps on hives.. so why is the first and only TEAM viable repper-hive limited to 1 carried at level 2? its bogus..
thats why i suggested 2 carried 1 active half or less healing and lower resupply.. that way its in keeping with the K-17(r) which has 20hp/s 7.5% resupply 2 carried 2 active..
with its current use of "burst rep/resupply" on the compact we would need max carried 3 max active 1 to make it work for us
ps got cal logi 3 and min logi 3. if compacts were better people might actually go cal logi first instead of min->amarr/gal->cal logi progression order

id love to see what Rattati and Logibro have to say about my proposed changes to keep the L1 hive in line with the L3.. and the L2 compact in line with the L4 armor repair hive

The thing is good for solo resupply if your fit is tight. When i cant fit the X-3 quantum hive i fit the compact simply cause it is cheap, reps armor and grants me at least a full resupply of like 2 grenades and enough ammo to continue fighting.

Compacts are actually great on fittings when both ammo is scarce and you don't want to sacrifice much CPU/PG.
I use it on my Adv Logi sometimes when I'm slaying and don't want any other equipment beside a scanner.
And to be honest I'm far too lazy to comprehend that text wall of numbers...
