All of this is assuming proto suits and maxed cores. In charlie, cal assault has one more high and low slot than their scout counterpart. If the extra high slot is used for an energizer, and the low slot is used for a regulator, then the assault and scout have very similar shield recharge rates and regen delays. At this point, the two suits have the same number of slots, barring the scouts extra equipment. The base stats are the same, as well, except the scout has better ewar and movement related stats while the assault has more raw hp as well as its reload speed bonus. The assault fitting reduction basically makes up for the cpu and pg used up by the two modules.
So, the scout has speed and ewar while the assault has hp and a racial weapon bonus (that should be changed in the future). Balance? At least between these two suits? Thoughts?

Balance I guess. 600 shieods 180 armor 52 rep rate vs 452 shields 87 armor 50 rep rate, or assault 509 shields 86 rep rate.

600 shields 52 rep rate. That rep rate is so fast you're unlikely to really need more.

if you are after solely shield and shield regen go cal scout you get the ewar bonuses and two equipment slots.
use the cal assault with two damage mods on |

That rep rate is so fast you're unlikely to really need more. But then 100 hp isn't too much, vs regen times... 50 hp/s X12s=600 80 hp/s X7s=600 but hp is 500 so, 6s to regen, or 7.6s to regen full with delays...

those are two very different fits for two very different situations
the first fit is for long range open combat with limited cover. its good also against weaker targets like scouts.
the second fit is for when youll be facing multiple targets one after another. its not as good in open combat because you cant make use of the recharge under fire, but its good when you have nearby cover.

Hurr durr i could aswell bricktank amarr/gallente scouts and get aswell high tanking numbers. Thing is you will allways get more HP on assaults and thats the point.

Cal assault with 500shields, almost 80or something regen with 2-3 delays or lower.

EWAR do not mean much when someone knows that you are there and he is prepared for you. Speed advantage depend highly on terrain, it may mean nothing if you are in corridor environment. I think that HP is always something solid in Dust, and if someone attacks you unexpectedly not your 'skill' but fat HP may save your life.

The only reason any scout seems "as tough" as their assault counterpart is their horrendously small hitbox which people abuse lol.
