I see alot of people raving about it and its hard to seperate the speculation from the facts with how hot and bothered everyone seems to be when talking about it. o-o so I was wondering where to get a hold of these facts so i can look at them myself. |

The crux of the perceived issue is that a heavy armed with a light weapon that stacks defensive modules can be a tough nut to crack when encountered alone, and thus groups of them can potentially dominate matches.
Personally, I think Rattati et al are shying away from a heavy nerf and want to deal with the issue by making assaults much more effective, and to my mind that's the way to go. Scouts can handle heavies if they play well, and commandos aren't designed to go toe to toe with them full stop so that balance is in a good place too.
I would be very surprised to see heavy suits seriously hurt come Charlie deployment day.

Check the hotfix charlie notes thread. it is confirmed. how bad it will be will depend on which heavy you currently are and what your playstyle with it is.
one thing i have come to start thinking is though that ccp were very shrewd with this nerf, dropping cpu and pg to trap us into only using heavy weapons at the same time as nerfing the hmg with overheat and range reductions.
and also nerfing heavy suits too.
it seems as though there will be a fair few extra forge gunners in charlie... |

Forgot to point out it is due to too many heavies in dust though, so they really shouldn't be complaining. this is what to expect when one fit out is clearly better than the rest. |

YA I checked chariles notes.... they have seriously cut the PG/CPU amounts down a good deal as well as screwing me out of a armor slot. Ya give the guy weak of shield another shield slot. that will even out. e.e The overheat isn't that bad. just losing 85-135armor for a worthless shield slot is not okay. That setup works for the other two races 3H/2L because they have a sheild option in that slot as well. we have 0 armor options in the high slot. so now the Gallante will have to rock 2 damage mods as a heavy to make up for it. if that will even balance it out. |

The heavies are getting a "nerf" so that now the STD HMG overheats in 7.5 seconds, the ADV in 9, and the proto never.
Also, they now need to get their cores up to 5 to fit full proto.
Thats the "nerf".

I didn't want to believe that this was possible... but I just did a few fittings in protofits and you are right.
Cool, more matches with 50% sentinels, 40% scouts, and 10% everything else.

Yes another nerf, next one I predict will be scouts due to lack of heavy balance scouts will continue too dominate the field and thus lead to the nerf hammer. Cant wait for that one for we get to see who really are FOTM.

My amarr heavy will be fine, though I'm not a fan of the 1h-4l for AV purposes (that's where my cal sent comes in), just some slight tweaks and maybe another level or so into optimization.
My cal scout will be great with the new bonuses, thanks community for all the crying about how OP the scout was because of the shield stack etc, now I'm actually kinda forced into stacking extenders which I'm stoked about the increased ehp!!
Man my amarr assault will be brutal, even more so then it was.
Charlie is looking better and better the more I think about it.

I was about to skill the Amarr Sentinel to Proto just for that 2/3 Slot layout. Double Damage Mods, enough room for plenty of Plates or Reps... I'm glad it's coming to the Gallente Sentinel, I just saved 2.5 million SP.
CPU/PG was too high.
Overheat, meh. Whatever.
Hopefully, not all of the FotM Heavies will disappear. I've enjoyed showing them how it's done, properly.

how is that ridiculous? we have no equipment slots and less module slots than the medium and light suits. if they went without equipment and left one of their module slots open then they would have plenty of CPU/PG also.

If you ran a minmitar scout, you would too.
And guess what?
I still have to fit a basic cloak, basic SMG, and k5 socialist shotgun with nothing in my other eq slot to be able to fit proto modules.
^^Thats worse conditions than most assault suits are in ATM.

HF Charlie presented that all the HMGs will heat up faster. I have seen nothing about the prototype never overheating. now if you meant the GASTUNS never overheating then that is fine. The only thing to be buffed in the HMG as far as the regular category is concerned is the STD HMG with a Range Buff to ADV while the ADV went untouched and PRO went down to ADV range.
So if anything the PRO already overheats in this game meaning with the hotfix it is to heat up faster than before. Source.
The people who remain unaffected by the nerf are players that were in heavy suits since either closed beta, open beta, or Uprising 1.0 and stayed with their choice throughout every single respec being thrown in their face. Otherwise people who went heavy for FOTM are getting their just desserts.
Darkness is a Beginning, you see, not an end.

gotta say that at first i was unhappy about these nerfs but i think it does make sense, at the moment fitting opt skills don't matter too much, this will also mean that people who skill to specialise in being a heavy will get the advantage of fitting fully proto. which makes sense because being fully skilled in something should make you the apex of it.
that said not looking forward to the extra work now |
